So if you made this, jreid, I believe it calls for the jreid tag. Not bad.
|
jreid - 2015-04-02 Haha thanks. I will tag this with jreid and aim to make that a goddamn linked tag even if it kills me.

Is there an "Internet OF Things" tag yet? Either way this needs it.

jreid - 2015-04-02 Obliged, OZ. only because I'm secretly in love with you.

Running out of those kurig things actually is a pain the the ass. I got one for my birthday a few years ago and used it until the extra ones ran out. Then I just switched back to my old coffee pot and gigantic thing of folgers. Them shits are expensive and not easy to find.

StanleyPain - 2015-04-02 Not easy to find? Dear lord, my local dollar store has boxes of k-cups, usually for about half what they are at the supermarket. I think we are well past k-cups being somehow rare. Hell, the supermarket I go to recently just re-did their whole coffee aisle just to make room for an entire 10-foot section specifically of nothing but k-cups.
That said, yeah, you can get empty k-cups (ekobrew is probably the most popular) and just use those. I use them for my artsy-fartsy fancy bean-only coffees.
|
spikestoyiu - 2015-04-02 K Cups usually taste like burnt ass and will just sit in a landfill forever. Worst bullshit.

There are apparently a lot of companies trying to do this shit now.
My mom wanted to try that Wen shampoo, so I ordered some online for her birthday. She tried it and didn't think it made much difference, or at least not enough of a difference to justify the price tag. Oh well, no harm, no foul...or at least that's what I thought.
Then, the following month, I saw another charge of from Chaz Dean. I contacted the company and found they were auto-replenishing the supply and would do so until I told them to stop. I told them to stop. They told me to return the unopened supply for a refund, minus "shipping & handling charges" of course. It cost me to send the stuff back and I got a refund. And because they were sending me a 90-day supply (30 days worth at a time) I had to do that twice more.
I thought I had originally only ordered a single thirty day supply, but there was probably some fine print hidden in there about the "automatic replenishment".
When I told the story at work, a couple of coworkers told me they had been burned in similar fashion, one by a place she had ordered some beauty products from, another by a place he had ordered coffee pods from.
