"Can we see a movie of a sunrise?"
"Oh, shit!"
"Nice..."

Twilight set a pretty high bar for vampire movies and not even the 6th Underworld sequel has managed to touch it so I don't have too much hope for this.

I really like how they've thought through the challenges that come with being shoved into a ghetto (not a slum, a ghetto) of nocturnal beings, and how you find a way to get by. We Liveys (can I call us "Liveys"? it's probably a slur) have vastly greater choice when it comes to roommates and lifestyle in general.

It's a nice touch that the tech's name is "Stew", so that we can identify with the vampires' desire to eat him.

Back when I was playing Vampire LARP (sigh), we had a character who was this 900 year old vampire who was supposed to be the leader of a local faction. The problem was that he was the only character in the game without a cell phone. The younger vampires decided to get him a cell phone, and whenever it would ring, he'd smash it to bits with his super strength and use telekinesis to summon whoever had called him.

Eventually, they got him a kiddy phone with one button on it, the kind they sell to 3 year olds, and it actually worked.

It's a good movie, and I'd place it near the top of my vampire movies list, unironically, oddeye.

It's really fun.

I will watch this TONIGHT and give you a 100% honest opinion. FACT.

also wouldn't a 900 year old vampire master just have his minions call people? Like "Cornell, summon Professor Broodmann at once!"

It's fitting that vampires and zombies are the trends that will not die...
