This is truly an interesting character study. Sharon Osbourne, notorious killjoy, far too snobby and professional to be a heavy metal wife. And the ICP, a pair of blustering, swaggering cowards, known for backing down as rapidly as they instigate shit.

I've got to give ICP props for this, though. It was a great move, snatching at Sharon's coattails like this, then manipulating the blowback so as to make themselves appear to be authentic rebel bad-boys from the Underground. Almost as brilliant as Sharon convincing her barely-literate burnout husband to bite the head off a dove.

What happened with this, anyways? Was it kayfabe, or shoot? Are they still beefing? Is there a list of current feuds ICP is involved in? Let me know, Prickly Pete.

"a pair of blustering, swaggering cowards, known for backing down as rapidly as they instigate shit." Where are you getting this from? I refer you to their beef with Eminem, where they went at him hard and furiously. They got the last diss song in before Eminem, idk, stopped giving a crap I guess. I certainly can't think of any examples of them backing down from a beef though.

As for the aftermath of this: the terms of the bet are sketchy in this video but in his book, Violent J said after the taping they got it in writing that the bet was whether they'd sell 200,000 units on their next release, which they did. ICP said she could donate the money to charity but of course nothing ever came of it again. They continued to talk shit about her for many years after this for bailing on the bet. I'll give Sharon this though: they DID get dropped by their distributor after their next album. She called that. Island merged with Def Jam and dropped all the acts that weren't making that Jay-Z money. She must've had some inside info on that. But either way, she's a fuckin idiot for repeatedly saying that they're "yesterday's news". Dumb bitch.

You know all about Howard Sterns in '99, you know about this:

ICP are wrestlers. They talk smack to draw heat and amuse the crowd, but when shit gets real, they bail.

(the reason why nothing happened with Eminem is because Eminem is even more of a fake tough-guy bitch than ICP)

Also, what's the real story on Coal Chambergate? From what Violent Jay and the other one are saying, it sounds like Coal Chamber got shitcanned because ICP are homophobic.

They say "real juggalos don't wear fishnet". So how do they explain juggalettes in fishnet?

Prickly Pete - 2015-04-12

Yeah that's pretty rough. Well I asked for an example of them backing down from a fight and you provided one. Can't argue with that.

As far as Coalchamber, I think it's just as ICP said; Coalchamber wasn't moving any tickets. I would like to say that they are getting better about the homophobia though. On a recent release Violent J said "faggot" and they self censored it. Homophobic enough to say it, progressive enough to censor it. I agree, I wish they'd cool it on that. They are but a product of their generation.

That's no excuse. I grew up using those words and knocked it off.

One thing to remember is that Sharon Osbourne is not just a heavy metal wife, she's Ozzy Osbourne's manager. And not in a Yoko sense, she managed metal acts first, that's how they met. So there was probably a lot of music biz subtext here that's going over our heads.

EvilHomer - 2015-04-13

I don't know if their self-censoring is really "better", it's more just them being cowardly and backing down from a fight, as usual. If they're homophobes, then that's fine - they're entitled to their opinions, and by golly Insane Clown Posse, if that's how you feel, then stand up for your principles and let your freak flag fly! Don't engage in self-censorship just because you're intimidated by the mainstream and scared of what will happen to your image and your career if you stay true to yourself.

What's next? ICP stop using the terms "mainstream" and "underground", because they're elitist, seditious, and might offend people?!? Pretty soon, it'll be "Silent J", and "Shaggy 2 Scared to Speak in Dissent".

This was super enjoyable.

ICP was absolutely deft against her. You would think that the English accent would win, but Sharon can't do much but squirm. She really comes across as the archetypical evil manager here.

Contrast this Sharon Osbourne with the current one in the media, it is like night and day (even her attitude). She must be in her late 40s here...he was at 225 lbs and was able to essentially reincarnate herself into her current image. Impressive. She looks older here than her current pictures, it really is a testament to how plastic surgery is essentially a requirement in the entertainment business.

Cena_mark - 2015-04-12

They're talking about business. The ICP may seem like idiots in terms of music and the understanding of magnetic force, but they know the business. They have never been signed. Everything they did was grass roots. They started their own publishing and merchandising and have done extremely well.

I feel like it is important not to lose sight of the fact that ICP makes some of the worst music possible, and their fans are mostly human garbage.
