And a bit pedo

baleen - 2015-04-13

yogarfield - 2015-04-14

i almost said the same, but was feeling nice today

(hahahaha)

badideasinaction - 2015-04-13

Saw an episode or two of it since friends thought I'd look good in pink with a chainsaw in cosplay. It's not bad, not great either, but worth a shot I guess.

TeenerTot - 2015-04-13

I think there's a "panty shot " tag.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2015-04-13

Kawaii.

Spaceman Africa - 2015-04-13

dubs???

Cena_mark - 2015-04-13

Seems that mocking the magical girl trope has been overdone. Its kinda low hanging fruit. Especially the absurdity of those drawn out transformations. Sailor Moon sucked and ruined anime for a while.

EvilHomer - 2015-04-13

Shut up, Cena Moon.

EvilHomer - 2015-04-13

The only good magical girl parody so far was Apple Bloomers, and at any rate, all this focus on magical girl henshin is inherently sexist. Henshin sequences are not exclusive to the magical girl genre. On the contrary, henshin sequences are a trope found within a wide array of Japanese superhero media, particularly the various Kamen Rider and Super Sentai ("Power Rangers") series, but also including things like Gatchaman, Transformers, and the all-boy Ronin Warriors. People have problems with, and make fun of, magical girl transformation sequences, but evidently neither know nor care about the lions share of henshin, which are the domain of men! When a MAN transforms, oh it's fine, but when a GIRL does it, haha, everyone point and laugh at how dumb she is, the stupid time-wasting bitch.

Check your privilege, Cena!

EvilHomer - 2015-04-13

And, and sort of offtopic, but did you see that there's a brand new version of Inspector Gadget on Netflix now? Twilight Sparkle is voicing Penny!!!! Personally I would have rather it was Ashleigh Ball (her Rainbow Dash voice is very reminiscent of classic Penny) but I never say no to Tara Strong.

All they need to do now is give Penny a good transformation sequence, in keeping with her proto-Sailor-Moon twintails look.

Cena_mark - 2015-04-14

The difference is when guys transform shit like weapons, armor, and something to hide their identities appear. When magical girls transform they just get a new dress and hairstyle. Its just plain dumb. Almost as dumb as thinking Twilight would want her castle full of animals and decorated with someone else's trophies.

EvilHomer - 2015-04-14

Twilight is predominately gender neutral and has very specific tastes. Her transformation would have her sprouting books and pleated school-dresses; her castle would be filled with scientific gear and magical manuscripts.

But *Fluttershy's* castle would be filled with animals. *Rarity's* transformation would have her getting a new dress and hairstyle. In fact, the only pony who'd get cool weapons and armor would be Rainbow Dash - she'd wind up turning into some cyborg ninja-samurai. Pinkie Pie might get a new dress and a party cannon, Applejack might get fat and find a ogre club somewhere, but really there is only one pony who'd get a totally "cool", "masculine" transformation. And that's OK! Being girly and having girly priorities is not wrong, it is not a sign of weakness or lameness. It's just different.

It's like... it's like the Coast Guard versus the military. Some people like to potter about on a boat all day and then come home at night. Other people actually like to go out into the world and keep America safe. The Coast Guard isn't "worse" than the military; you guys are just different. You have different values, but the important thing is that you stay true to yourself!

EvilHomer - 2015-04-14

-edit- Yes, I realize that Rainbow Dash is both the coolest and most badassest pony ever, so _technically speaking_, everypony who has a less Xtreme transformation than Dashie does is both "weaker" and "lamer" than her. I mean those words in a strictly vernacular, non-judgmental sense.

Look, my point is that this is OK; I don't hold it against Rarity for having henshin powers entirely focused around fashion and fabulosity, and while that's not for ME or MY TASTES, it's also not something that would give me cause to girl-shame Rarity into losing the dresses and getting some cool-ass guns instead.

EvilHomer - 2015-04-14

-edit edit- Sorry, I meant to say "objective", not "vernacular"! In a vernacular sense of 'lame' and 'weak', then there would indeed be that underlying pejorative meaning which I seek to challenge. In paragraph 2, subpost 4, it is this vernacular, non-technical, and pejorative sense of the words that I am utilizing. Paragraph 1, subpost 5, I refer strictly to the clinical senses of the words.

I hope that clears things up. I haven't slept much all night.

Cena_mark - 2015-04-14

I've been out there. I've sailed for months around the Carribean busting smugglers.
AJ Would get apple cannons with her transformation. RD would get some stupid armor so overdone she wouldn't even be able to fly.

EvilHomer - 2015-04-14

The Caribbean is America's backyard. There's like no point in that entire sea that's more than twenty miles from US property.

Rainbow Dash's armor would be made of ultra-lightweight fighterjet materials, and also it'd have rockets.

Cena_mark - 2015-04-14

I'm not talking about being near the Bahamas or Florida. I'm talking way south like central and south america.

SixDigitDebt - 2015-04-13

History teaches us all about cross-dressing high school boys who use chainsaws to chop up animals and that's okay too.

Old_Zircon - 2015-04-13

Lost me at "Zombies" and "tongue in cheek"

Wild Zero was pretty much the last zombie thing I could stomach, unless you count [REC] as zombies (I don't).

SolRo - 2015-04-14

ehh, I don't remember that it had much to do with zombies...it's more like a sentai setup

chumbucket - 2015-04-14

I get this contains a bunch of the typical anime themes but the whole scroll thing they use here, is that supposed to be some sort of "live tweet/comment" crawl on what's happening? I don't get it...any of it.

SolRo - 2015-04-14

Japans has (had?) live comments superimpose over a live video stream on one(a lot?) of their video blogging things

Cena_mark - 2015-04-14

Its just people's comments on it. The kids are posting the embarrassing transformation online.

Jet Bin Fever - 2015-04-14

What ugly, terrible animation.

theSnake - 2015-04-14

Its called "Anime"
