Found out today on Facebook that my aunt is having open-heart surgery in two days. Her own daughter didn't know until the Facebook post.
It's reasons like this that I'll always have to at LEAST check up on it once a week.

infinite zest - 2015-04-19 I was watching the news at work and this story came on: Some girl with a developmental disability in Minnesota posted an invite to her birthday party, and nobody clicked "attending" or whatever, so her mom put something on her facebook. Word got around and the party was in the thousands, with tons of people she didn't even know, including a few Minnesota Vikings players. Yeah.. I know.. not exactly POE material, but the story made me tear up a bit. So facebook does have many good uses.

infinite zest - 2015-04-19 I still use facebook because I started it back in college, back when, you know, it was the myspace/friendster alternative for students and you needed an .edu address to sign up. Free of things like ADs, and STALKERS, and OTHER BULLSHIT. And that was the year I graduated college. Anyway all my friends are all over the world, so I stay on there because it's probably my last source of communication with a lot of people, who've since gotten married, changed numbers, things like that. And, I'm friends with a couple of you fine folks as well and enjoy your posts. But the other 97%.. ok you like cats and you're in a relationship. Whoptyfuckingdo.
