aw, was that a Thunderdome?

HELL YES IT WAS A THUNDERDOME!!

infinite zest - 2015-04-29

Usually I'm not excited for "remakes" (technically this isn't a remake) just as I'm not excited for videogame adaptations, but I had the original Mad Max on NES and it was really fun. Unfortunately I'll have to get a next gen system to play this, but damn it looks pretty incredible.

Jet Bin Fever - 2015-04-29

It's pretty but it looks like it takes an overused Batman brawler type gameplay mixed in with some car encounters. If this game isn't completely open-ended like they claim it'll probably be boring and repetitive.

EvilHomer - 2015-04-29

Yeah, I'm very skeptical. It looks iffy, and I can't imagine it's going to be even half as good as Fallout, Falloutscrolls, Borderlands, STALKER, or Wasteland 2.

The bar is set quite high on post-apocalyptic shooter/RPGs, quite low on licensed movie tie-ins.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2015-04-30

EH, given some of your other misguided rants about video games, I do feel compelled to call out the classification of Borderlands as "good" as further evidence you might be in need of medical attention.

EvilHomer - 2015-04-30

I never said Borderlands was "good". It's not.

Borderlands is GREAT. With DLC, it's superb, and by Borderlands 2, it was pretty much the best FPS franchise since Bethesda took over Fallout. B:tPS isn't quite as flawless as B2, but overall it is about five orders of magnitude better than a paltry "good".

Which of my rants do you take issue with? What would YOU consider a "good" game?

Jet Bin Fever - 2015-04-30

Yeah, I had fun with Borderlands. It was a fun mix of RPG and shooter.

Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2015-04-29

It looks very nice. I'm assuming that footage is from the pc version (maybe a special pc version that will never be released (but later exposed by modders) with the graphics turned up to 10, running on an insanely powerful machine)
I can guardedly say this looks like it may potentially be alright. perhaps.
But JBF raises some good points. I'm wondering where are all the shitty cutscenes, quicktime events, invisible walls and so forth tat they are not showing us in this video.

chumbucket - 2015-04-29

It looks better than the film remake.

yogarfield - 2015-04-29

1:35 Good to see the RE4 Merchant is still finding work.

yogarfield - 2015-04-30

Chocolate Jesus - 2015-05-06

Gmork - 2015-04-29

This looks like that piece of shit rage.

EvilHomer - 2015-04-29

BUT DID YOU MAKE A MOD THAT WAS BETTER THAN THIS?

Hooker - 2015-04-29

Boy those cutscenes look arduous.

Lurchi - 2015-09-01

"Once things actually get underway, Mad Max is a sprawling and bloated open-world game with story missions and side missions and to-do lists—destroy some enemy towers, invade some enemy camps, collect some items—that would take scores of hours to complete. It’s not a Ubisoft game, but it feels like one: Watch Dogs in the desert."
