In other news, I'm just reading Walt Disneys biography, and after hours of reading about his parents' cousins' spouses' dogs (it's a pretty detailed book) he finally invented Mickey Mouse. It's cool to be able to see these early cartoons when you've read of all the stuff that lead up to it.

Yes, this is strange to our modern ear. But, this was the style at the time. Listen to the WWI anthem 'Over There', or some other 1920s pop music, and you will find that this here is just a domestic ode to a farmwoman but with a cartoon mouse singing it.
