yeah, the combat scenes are good enough, but the role of mundane fighters in the anime is secondary to maria's teenage girl plot.

Also, and this is very important, does the anime side mostly with the English, mostly with the Valoisite usurper, or does it try and strike a balance between the two?

It's alright. I like that the series ended, because it was starting to drag.. by episode 11, I was like, "good, now we have this scene.. and now we have this scene... and now it's done. yay." But, I was enjoying it from eps 1-7 especially.

that site, animeshow.tv, has the occasional popup (usually when you first come to a window) or loud ad. but, after you get through initial ads and the one popup, it's ad-free for the whole episode, which is good enough.
