Eh.. they made a movie out of Clue; if it sticks with cute multicolored CGI hippos running amok through Los Angeles after a tsunami washed them off uncharted Marble Island and they make friends with the kid from Whiplash then I don't see how it's any worse than other CGI animal movies.

EvilHomer - 2015-05-15

The Clue movie had Jane Wiedlin. Will Hungry Hungry Hippos? Probably not; ergo, it will suck.

somedongus - 2015-05-15

Clue also had Coleen Camp and her magnificent rack. I hear the best they can do for HHH is Rebel Wilson as the pink hippo.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2015-05-15

All I can remember about Clue is that it had Tim Curry. And Martin Mull. The rest is a blank.

EvilHomer - 2015-05-15

Miss Wiedlin singing and Miss Camp bouncing as she goes up and down the stairs for me.

I have no idea who Martin Mull is.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2015-05-15

Martin Mull's been around forever. Most recently, he's been playing Brita Perry's Dad on the new web-series version of community.

EvilHomer - 2015-05-16

I have no idea who Brita Perry is, either.

I have a notion that Robot Chicken is computer-generated to look like stop motion. I mean, this shit is way more intricate than Gumby. How could they crank out so much of it?

Anybody know for a fact that I'm wrong?

infinite zest - 2015-05-15

That's what I've always assumed; the first season if I recall was incredibly jerky, just like South Park was with their stop motion. What's funny is the action figures weren't that funny, and the show would be the same CGI, live action or whatever.

fluffy - 2015-05-15

There's almost certainly some amount of post-processed compositing going on, but that's pretty common in stop-motion these days (since there's no way to get a lot of shots otherwise). Even Aardman has been using that a lot for their lower-budget productions (like Shaun the Sheep).

However, according to this article it's still shot using action figures - they are just REALLY GOOD at sourcing them, and at making model sets.

That's really cool actually. Robot Chicken's not really my sense of humor, but damn if they aren't really good at what they're doing.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2015-05-15

I just starting watching Robot Chicken a couple of weeks ago, when Adult Swim came to Hulu. It was hilarious at first, but then it stops being hilarious. Now it's diverting, I guess... but, like I said, it's only been a couple of weeks. So far, the best thing I've seen is the Bitch Pudding Christmas Special.

I voted for this because I liked the Owen Wilson figure.

badideasinaction - 2015-05-15

Robot Chicken was funny if watched at the appropriate lonely 1AM-3AM timeslot, but I never found it nearly as good at any other times.

infinite zest - 2015-05-16

however many times I watch it, this will always be funny.

I was at a bar one time and Robot Chicken was on with the sound off so I was kind of casually watching it and that came on. I was like apologizing to the bartender, because of some rule I made up that it's not ok to like Robot Chicken. Anyway bartender girl was like "my daughter and I love that show" and showed me the robot chicken halloween costume she made for her 2-year-old daughter. It was at that moment when I decided not to be such a hipster.
