I ... want to like this, isn't that enough?

The first two episodes are kind of a slog, but I like how it embraces its dorkiness. Nobody is trying too hard to be too ironic about what's a cheap sitcom in space. I really liked the third episode as well as the episode with the lightning storm. I hope it gets a second season since I think it found it stride near the end of this one.

I saw the whole series and I have to say that the pilot is the weakest episode by far. It's a flawed show, and I would hope that a second season would allow them to correct those flaws. I also found the lead really, REALLY annoying at first, but I came around.

I liked it, eventually. But I totally see why some folks, or perhaps even most folks wouldn't.

The lead, yes. Even on "Quark" (the spiritual ancestor to this show, that I'm guessing only Binro and I remember), the lead was unassuming but he came up with inspired solutions just often enough that you could buy him in command.

I like the lead's sister better at this point (three episodes in), and would rather put her in charge.

For you MST3K fans who haven't checked it out yet, Joel Hodgson is the ship's loopy engineer, and Trace Beaulieu is doing the voice of his robot buddy named "Art".

cause you're a bunch of indecisive fucking shitheads who are too scared to admit whether you like something or not for fear gf retribution

Well, I don't much like you.

As a Dwarfer I should give this a chance.

The show starts off a bit slow for the first two episodes but things really start taking off by the third episode. The various performers pull of their jobs well, from Karan Soni as the dorky lead (he was in those phone commercials), Milana Vayntrub (who is in those other phone commercials) who plays the ditzy navigator with a sort of archness that really adds the role, Neil Casey as socially awkward crewman Kent, and of course Hodgson and Beaulieu who, after sort of being part of the background for the first couple of episodes really came into the fold of the cast.

So, I tried watching this but Yahoo Screen is probably the worst video streaming service I have ever used outside of the weird third-party channels on Roku and shit.

I have yet to get through an entire episode without it either crashing, the audio/video desyncing, or just something happening. This is on 2 separate computers and my Roku, and the interface for the Roku channel is so terrible I can't seem to properly search for the right spot to try to picking it up again.

Oh sure it's flawed. But it's good. Just go watch season 1 of anything, they all have flaws. I have high hopes for this.

I liked the first few episodes I watched, mainly because the lead Indian guy is so goddamn likable.
