IF itmakes you feel any better, places like California becoming "habitable" (my postindustrial standards" is a big part of what's causing this mess to begin with. In the mid-term, anthropocentric view climate change is a disaster but in the long term* it's more like the ecosystem is cutting the dead wood (us).
*I'm the son of a geologist, when I say "long term" I mean it. The entire length of recorded human history is like a mosquito's fart. We only live a few decades so to us 5000 or 10,000 years seems like a long time but it isn't even close.
