Dupe:

But I'm not disappointed to see this again.

TeenerTot - 2015-06-02

I even commented on it myself.
My brain bad.

Since you brought it up, can you say anything more about special features that have been put into other toys? Always wanted to hear more about that.

I take it you're some sort of electronical stuff-doing person, whatever they're called? That's pretty cool.

I wish I could go into the programming side of things, but I'm really just a designer.
But:
Once upon a time, I designed animations for things called "C-Watches." Usually, we'd add silly things that we would take out of the program before sending out. Once, a new product manager pulled my Incredible Hulk animations to send to Marvel for approval, without telling me. So I was unable to remove the anim of the Hulk picking his nose and eating it. I got back a note saying "Marvel wants to keep the 'special animation" ???" Thank you, Marvel.

I also occasionally do voices for toys, and boy-howdy there's stuff there...but we're usually pretty careful about what gets finalized. There are some mildly stereotypical ones, like the "Irish" hamster that rants about potatoes and sounds kinda drunk.

Oh cool! It looks like I'll get to do voices for the new iteration of Sing-A-Majigs!

Keep your fingers crossed for me, PoE. I need the job.

Fingers crossed! And now I totally want a Hulk C-Watch, but I can't find them.

TeenerTot - 2015-06-02

Aw. If I had one, I'd send it to you. The company name was "Trendmasters" if that helps your search.

Bort - 2015-06-02

Yup, and I don't think C-Watches have been made since like the 20th century.

However, this being 2015, I bet I can just Google "Hulk picking his nose" and there's probably a video to tide me over. So it all works out.

They're fun to fuck around with. My grandma had a whole bunch of guitar playing dogs and cats and such and after she passed I took them and have messed around with the circuits. Nothing that different from this video tho.

That sounds like a really fun way to make a living.

It was the best job. I was incredibly lucky to work with the most talented & creative people I'd ever met. That's the part I miss most. There were illustrators who went on to work on comic books, and sculptors who ended up doing McFarlane's stuff. Even outside of work, there were colleagues' art openings and stuff. Of course, it didn't take long for CEO greed and asshattery to sink the place.
