Part 2, in which we get a good look at the Faygo pouring out of the ceiling.

Old_Zircon - 2015-06-03 The second one looks like a lost scene from Alien.

Bort - 2015-06-03
The best possible Juggalo fluid this could be happening with.
|
|
Maggot Brain - 2015-06-03 Don't worry, I'm sure there in some piss mixed in.
|
animegurl1000 - 2015-06-03 ... mixed with whatever else was present on the bodies of juggalos that got drenched by flying spraying pop bottles.
Sweat, sebum, open sores, you name it.

TeenerTot - 2015-06-03
That's kinda gross.
Do club insurers know about this?
|
Old_Zircon - 2015-06-03 I have to imagine ICP must cover at least some of the cleanup cost for these shows. At any rate, the impression I get is that there is a circuit of juggalo-friendly venues that they always play at. But yeah, that much corn syrup getting deep into the structure seems like it has to have some pretty serious long term effects. I wonder if the place is full of hornets and smells like cotton candy vomit once the warm weather hits.

infinite zest - 2015-06-03 I remember seeing the black lips years ago and the band itself went through I think 6 30 pack cases of pbr, most of which ended up on the audience and ground (early black lips shows sure we're fun) and I can only imagine that the same thing happened to that venue's basement.. anyway King khan played there the next night so maybe they were just used to it..
|
animegurl1000 - 2015-06-03 From what I've read, ICP only uses diet Faygo drinks at their concerts instead of the regular sugared ones, for the reasons stated above.
I'd imagine the aftermath of their shows would be about fifty times worse for the venues if they sprayed sugared sodas everywhere.
|
Old_Zircon - 2015-06-03 Back in the early 00s when I was playing a lot of basement shows I remember there was some guy who I happily declined to go see who was doing the basement circuit but his act was mostly just him puking and jacking off. But even HE had the decency to put down tarps and clean up after himself.

Lurchi - 2015-06-03
what is Faygo?
|
infinite zest - 2015-06-03 It's pretty much regular soda (or Pop, since it's got Midwestern origins).. not so much like the cheap supermarket brands but more like Dog and Suds or Barqs, which many say is better than the generic kind, and at this point is basically like if Fanta continued to expand on flavors (like Cotton Candy) that sound horrible. I think it was initially cheaper than coke or pepsi, but gained a cult following with Juggalos because it was pretty much a detroit thing and you wouldn't get it because you're not from Detroit like the ICP, etc. etc. Plus the name has all the novelty humor of the Kum and Go convenience stores, so people go out of their way to visit it, because Juggalos still find something that sounds like "faggot" funny.
|
Bort - 2015-06-03 It's off-brand crappy soda.
|
|
infinite zest - 2015-06-03 I think it's better than those.. back in the day I'd mix Redpop with vodka, which actually does sound pretty gross now. I can't remember if they even have a regular "pepsi/coke/RC" flavor come to think of it.

EvilHomer - 2015-06-03 Bort's is a common misconception. It's actually on-brand, cheap soda, most of which is surprisingly good; it's the respectable indie band, or perhaps, the Sam Adams of soft drink manufacturers. Not all of it is good, mind you - the Cola flavour is only marginally more palatable than RC - but their Rootbeer is superb, as is their Rock N Rye (which is the only cream soda I can bring myself to drink). I've heard good things about their Cotton Candy soda (apparently released with the juggalo market in mind), but I have yet to try it myself.
Faygo is best known for being the favorite soda of the Insane Clown Posse, and thus, by extension, all juggalos everywhere. ICP will often shower their fans with bottles Faygo, in a lame approximation of GWAR's infinitely cooler blood-n-piss rains; hence the subterranean lake of Faygo seen here in this video.

Sanest Man Alive - 2015-06-03 The subterranean lake of Faygo was the lamest attempt to summon Vigo the Carpathian back into this world.

EvilHomer - 2015-06-04 "On-brand" is the opposite of "off-brand"; that is, it's a non-generic soda with a recognizable brand name and a manufacturer that takes pride in its product, albeit with a smaller distribution range and much more limited advertising budget than Coke or Pepsi.
Faygo has been available in many different parts of the country for the better part of a century now, but I think what IZ meant is that Faygo Beverages Inc is a Detroit-based company, one of the few hometown heroes available to Detroitians.
|
infinite zest - 2015-06-04 Yeah.. I was thinking back to 2000 or so, when I first moved to the Midwest. I'd never heard of it, but ICP was fairly unknown at that point too, mostly because of the lack of internet exposure/SNL parodies etc. Most stores that advertise Faygo out here now are probably catering to Juggalos, and you can't just find it at a regular supermarket like you can in the Midwest.

It's gathering into the giant Red Bull barrel. Once fully formed, Tar Man will burst out of it.
