I don't really get what he's trying to say about gay marriage in Canada. I live in Canada and gay marriage was legalized in 2005, with almost no fan fare or drama. As far as I can tell, it's a non-issue.

Also, how drunk is this guy?

Meerkat - 2015-07-05

It is totally a non-issue for most people, but homophobes still see it as an issue because, well, because they're homophobes. Nobody else gives a shit, we're too busy just getting on with life.

You would think after 10 years they'd realize it wasn't a big deal but these types of people will never question their own convictions no matter how much evidence contradicts them.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2015-07-05

This guy starts out kind of cool and likeable, and slowly gets uptight and creepy. The lead that he buries is something about gay families being ten times more likely to molest children. I haven't heard this before, but it sounds pretty serious. If he gives the source of that statistic, he's buried it in another part of the video. I checked the description box and there's no link to the source of that information, but there is a link to his "GUT-PUNCHINGLY HILARIOUS" MEMOIR. That's a pretty good description of what watching this video feels like, except that it's not all that hilarious.

Five stars for David Cross, carpet-bombing the world with his phallus.

JHM, the graph shown looks to come from this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Family_Structures_Study

As you can see it's heavily disputed.

When even Utah backs away from your bigot study...

mon666ster - 2015-07-05

The Canadian case he mentions is Smith v Knights of Columbus which reaffirmed the group's right to discriminate against homosexuals according to Catholic doctrine (ie they didn't have to rent their hall to the gays). The fine was because they were dicks about it. So, not surprisingly, he's lying.

memedumpster - 2015-07-05

Oh mah gawd, this guy is like an old queen two hours before closing time at a bar, bitching about no one buying him a drink even though he's obviously soused beyond all recognition.

"Be honesht, I'm pretty, right...?" Holy shit, as I typed that he damned near said just that.

Dude, I'll fuck you if you shut up, but I am not, repeat, NOT, staying the night. No, I wont marry you. Yes, I'm locking my wallet in the car. *sigh* Okay, tell me about the Knights of Columbus while I pour myself, MYSELF, a drink. You pass out I'm leav... okay, I'm leaving.

RedHood - 2015-07-05

Since he is pretty much assuming a lot of shit for arguments sake for his little internet video, I am going to go ahead and assume he is a really gross person inside-out. Except somehow something in me doesn't think I am reaching too far out on that.

Old_Zircon - 2015-07-06

That's a more well documented fact than anything he cites.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2015-07-05

He's cute, especially when he talks about how his marriage is shit and his wife can't stand him. :3

Don't really get his point or where he's getting his information from. He says that most homosexuals are lesbians, and that no gays actually want to get married. So is the point that if not enough people want to do something, that thing should be illegal.

I mean most people probably don't want to sleep hanging upside down, or watch paint dry while listening to Enya, or take a bath in a vat of cayenne, but should any of those things be illegal?

Also, while half the planet has no formal recognition in place, I'm pretty sure no government on the planet besides that of Turkey and Azerbaijan actively deny that the Armenian Genocide took place, but recognition of whether a historical event actually took place or not and granting legal rights to a modern minority group who doesn't have them are two completely different things. I really don't know how you can compare the two.

Sexy Duck Cop - 2015-07-05

Bryan Fuller is not taking Hannibal's cancellation well.

Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2015-07-05

I thought at the beginning of the video it was an openly gay man making some kind of contrarian view or something.

Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2015-07-05

Also all his 'data' is just magazine articles.

kingarthur - 2015-07-05

Well, this guy is an ass clown. No wonder his wife doesn't like him.

kamlem - 2015-07-05

"I would totally cheat on my wife if some back alley whore would only offer to fuck me. Also, gay marriage is bad because of infidelity."

Chancho - 2015-07-05

The most offensive part of this was his catty comment about David Cross. Gavin really needs some lessons on being a gentleman.

Nominal - 2015-07-05

Good to see Zack Galiafinakis losing weight.

Nominal - 2015-07-05

and speaking of gay marriage, today is the 5 year anniversary of the double rainbow video!

Jesus christ has it already been 5 years?

TheSupafly - 2015-07-05

Hey, isn't' this the guy who was kicked out of the very company he helped found and now writes for racist publications?

spikestoyiu - 2015-07-06

Yeah, I stopped paying attention to him years ago because it seemed like the line between his schtick and his actual belief system was becoming very fuzzy. It looks like it's only gotten worse since then.

Void 71 - 2015-07-06

I think guys like McInnes and Goad are mainly a reaction to the hyper-sensitive culture that the extreme left has created. They push hard in the other direction, meeting fire with fire until an equilibrium is reached. I would wager that they're less racist than the majority of limousine liberals who preach multiculturalism from the safety of their wealthy de facto segregated suburbs. They're certainly far less hypocritical.

Sexy Duck Cop - 2015-07-06

I don't know enough about McInnes to say for sure one way or another, but the phenomenon Void71 discusses is very real: Lately, I've started to hate liberals almost as much as conservatives on account of being equally hyper-reactionary, but lacking the intellectual honesty to admit it.

Just imagine South Park taken to its absolute extreme: They create edgy, offensive humor to push back against a culture that views any kind of moral judgment whatsoever as "unfortunate" or "problematic". Parker and Stone are good at maintaining a balance between provocative and insightful, but most people can't handle that balance.

I feel the same way about trans-people. To me, they're no different from Otherkin. You're not allowed to mock the former, but you are the latter. Why? They're both groups of mentally ill people pretending to be something they're not. Why is it okay to point and laugh at an obvious human claiming to be a fox, but not an obvious man claiming to be a woman? We could have a rational discussion about this without using the words "shaming" or "problematic," but our culture forbids this. Comedians who push against this trend are very, very necessary.

memedumpster - 2015-07-06

Porch is that way, bigots.

Yowl all you want, society has left you.

It's a good thing.

Void 71 - 2015-07-06

The left's lunatic fringe has overplayed its hand. An increasing number of people are seeing their inherent clownishness and they aren't afraid to point at them and laugh anymore - even people like me who are radically to the left on issues that matter, like the economy and the environment. It's becoming very apparent that they're nothing more than klansmen in rainbow hoods, spewing hatred at anyone who doesn't share their worldview. Extremism of any political stripe is inherently unsustainable because normal people always fall somewhere in the middle.

memedumpster - 2015-07-06

Oh God, you all sound like EvilHomer now.

The real Klan, the one you defend while pretending to know shit about, has been known to commit homicide over disagreement.

You're not oppressed, just not insulated from the social ramifications of your opinions, which is what you're crying over. If the gay klan started killing you in the streets, you'd have a point.

Until then, it's the sugary tears of clowns and everyone else sees it.

Void 71 - 2015-07-06

You're trying to battle one extreme with another, finding bogeymen where they don't exist. This is causing you to turn into the very thing you think you're fighting against.

memedumpster - 2015-07-06

Violent bigotry and civil rights are neither equivalent nor opposites. Everyone not an extremist knows this, it's self-evident.

I sincerely mean it when I say that when people such as yourself talk like this, you're nowhere near as slick about it as you think you are. Justifying bigotry isn't a matter of finding the right magic combination of words, arguments aren't unmade by incantation, there is observational data backing the other side. That data works against you, but that doesn't change the fact it's there, and it cannot be unmade by being a word wizard. Your line of argument would have failed a thousand years ago, leaving you to have to back it up with violence, which is what happens with extremists.

You're not fooling anyone.

spikestoyiu - 2015-07-07

"Why is it okay to point and laugh at an obvious human claiming to be a fox, but not an obvious man claiming to be a woman?"

Because the former is a totally made up thing. Sounds like a weird way to come out as OTHERKIN, Sexy Duck Cop.
