He was also a Men's Rights turd who used to go on talk shows in the 90's and bellow about how feminism was ruining society. Also taxes.

Caminante Nocturno - 2015-07-28

He was only kind of a drifter, not really committed or skilled enough at the art of drifting to be a true drifter.

I hear he flunked out of drifter school because he kept attending every class.

infinite zest - 2015-07-28

He was more of a ramblin' man.

Xenocide - 2015-07-28

Q: When a drifter has an erection, is it called driftwood?

A: Two people are dead, how dare you.

memedumpster - 2015-07-28

If he was a drifter, why didn't he just sideswipe people with the car on the way out of the theater?

That guy - 2015-07-28

How is it that 'kind of a drifter' is always so much worse than 'total drifter'?

Binro the Heretic - 2015-07-28

He shot and killed Mayci Breaux, 21, a student at LSU who worked at a local clothing boutique. He also severely wounded Breaux's fiancé.

He killed Jillian Johnson, 33, who co-owned a gift shop with her husband and a clothing line with her brother. She also played in an all-woman band.

As Xenocide pointed out, he was rabidly anti-feminist. He was also an anti-Semite. He chose to go on his rampage in a theater screening a rom-com by an outspoken female Jewish comedian. He sat in the back row behind Breaux and Johnson, the first ones targeted and the only victims to die.

Now, a few news outlets have said this guy may have been motivated by misogyny and bigotry, but the vast majority simply blame it on mental illness or scratch their heads and wonder, "What could his motive have been? Why would he do this?" Even the cops are acting stumped.

I'll bet if this asshole had a single drop of middle-Eastern blood, they wouldn't hesitate to spout off "motives."

Binro the Heretic - 2015-07-28

Also, he terrorized his wife & daughter to the point they both got protective orders against him.

infinite zest - 2015-07-28

And he had a law degree, though he didn't practice or pass the bar. It sucks because I knew of a few people who sound like the "drifter" type growing up. You lose your spouse and turn to the bottle, or you turn to the bottle so hard first that you lose your spouse, those are just two examples in a world of possibilities.

I can still go down the street and see my old across-the-street neighbor just standing there all day staring at the train yard and drifting around like he didn't have a home. He was a Lawyer and a devoted husband and father and it all got fucked up. I knew him well enough to know that he still has a heart of gold. But some people have the mentality that if they're going out they want to take others out with them. And sure, there's other ways to do that. But seriously America if this isn't a wake up call that we need to tax and track ammo sales, IF NOTHING ELSE, LIKE WE DO, I DUNNO, CIGARETTES AND OTHER THINGS THEY SAY ARE BAD FOR YOU then I'm moving to the country where they banned all gun sales, which seems to have actually worked pretty well down under.

spikestoyiu - 2015-07-28

It's controversial to suggest that this guy shouldn't have owned a gun. WHAT A WORLD WE LIVE IN.

Gmork - 2015-07-28

Mental health screening is one of the few ideas gun-control lobbyists have that actually might do something positive. Just keep Feinstein and her fucking retarded opinions out of everything.

Gmork - 2015-07-28

Sidenote: It makes it _harder_ to acquire a gun, not impossible. Let's not pretend that a law can somehow thwart peoples' will to intentionally circumvent it if they're just that committed to their insane course of action. It might weed out the lazy sociopaths, however.

infinite zest - 2015-07-28

Well look at every serial killer: they were charming and charismatic. So the Litmus test here would be if he was wearing a fucking shirt that says "KILL EM ALL" or something like that, and rambling about jibber jabber the gun store guy didn't understand.

Hey guess what Westboro's going to be protesting that funeral.

chumbucket - 2015-07-28

Please turn off your cellphones.
Also, if you are armed, for protection, please turn the safety of your firearm to on and as a courtesy to others, please do not wave it at the screen during the feature film
Thank you and enjoy the show!

infinite zest - 2015-07-28

Yeah.. I rarely see movies in theatres anymore, and was kinda bummed out with Mad Max because I brought in a couple beers like I usually do, saw the sign that said "BAGS WILL BE SEARCHED" and I saw the ushers taking bags like it was TSA and was like "oh.. I'll be right back I forgot something" and biked home and came back to the next showing.

And at the time I didn't put 2 and 2 together. I probably would've been kicked out of they found that beer (though I'm pretty good at concealing it), but there could've been a bunch of firearms in there! Besides Mad Max I hadn't seen a movie in the theatres since before shooting at Batman. So I appreciate movie theatres' bulked up security, even if it means that I can't my buzz on for less than 6 bucks for a beer.

RockBolt - 2015-07-28

Funny, Century in Aurora (my home theater) really has no extra security now. Other than a cop who wanders around the property, they don't search bags, there's no metal detectors. We still sneak drinks and popcorn in.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2015-07-29

Well technically so are a lot of politicians, but you don't see anyone calling Rick Perry out on being a vagrant. Which is a shame, because that would be great.
