I liked this movie, it looks and plays like an 80's pulp sci fi novel cover. Every time the drones make a noise, I pretend it's dronespeak for "my bad."

I accept all ridicule I deserve for this opinion, I wont resist.

It was a cool movie but it was also a little bit dry. Personally I thought it could have done with slightly less-slick aesthetic. Also, the storyline was relatively well known to anyone who had followed the original graphic novel production (which ultimately never came out) and I kinda was disappointed the story was so slavishly faithful to what was intended for the comic...I thought it could have used a little more spark in places.

But it certainly was a nice change of pace from the usual sci-fi crap in Hollywood.

FABIO - 2015-07-28

I really liked it for the aesthetic, even if the twist was super obvious 5 minutes into the movie. (all they had to do was omit the "5 year memory wipe" line)

Someone pointed out that it was Phantom Menace taking place entirely on Naboo.

Cruise = Anakin, is a slave
Drone army = droid army
Morgan Freeman & Wife = Jedi who change his life when a ship crash lands

Rag tag group battles drone army on the ground while Anakin flies up to blow up the mothership from inside.

Tatooine. Naboo is the water planet, where everything is soft and smooth.

Kabbage - 2015-07-28

Yeah. The plot isn't great and the climax in particular is just bland as hell, but the look and sound of everything honestly makes it work the watch. It's a cool flick.

A spirit bult to Two Jar.

Tom Cruise is one of the only celebrities where I will celebrate his death. Fucking child kidnapping piece of shit. I hope he and David Miscavige fall on a land mine together someday. Five stars for how fucking evil he is and how he keeps getting hundred million dollar movies because people refuse to boycott his self-loathing Scientology ass.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2015-07-28

the other celebrity deaths I will celebrate are all also Scientologists. Except maybe Ted Nugent, that guy is also an asshole.

StanleyPain - 2015-07-28

There's been a lot of rumors going around Clearwater that Cruise is considering leaving the CoS pretty publicly. Might happen, you never know.

FABIO - 2015-07-28

Shame, because Edge of Tomorrow was one of the best summer action movies of the decade.

The best video game movie not based on a video game!

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2015-07-28

It would be deliciously awesome if Cruise were to go to war with his totalitarian butt buddy Miscavige, but I don't think it will ever happen. He only plays heroes in movies. In real life he's a spineless coward who quietly oversees the enslavement of children in work camps, and so apparently does the FBI. I will never understand why they didn't just raid these places and arrest everyone involved in that whole fascist little operation.

I wish the producers of Edge of Tomorrow had stuck with the title of the original Japanese manga, "All you need is kill."

fedex - 2015-07-28

now that's a drone
