The only time period in my life I could really go on an actual vacation I planned on going to Hawaii but then I got so sick I couldn't really go anywhere. It was an extended sickness and then life happens...I keep it in the back of my mind that if I become successful again (which I'm working on...slowly) I'll make it there or someplace else that is as ridiculously beautiful.

Keep at it. Maybe it'll finally work out.

A guy who used to live with me would sporadically go between Honolulu and Portland. Like, he'd just show up and crash, and slept on the beach in Hawaii. He was a nice guy but at the time I was thinking that would be insane, but I was also married and had the closest to a "big boy" job that I've ever had. Now living on the beach for free all year seems perfectly logical and since I don't have to worry about work visas and such I could probably find work there too!

But that song fucking sucks. If that's what they listen to in Hawaii that might be a deal breaker.

I have a friend who is frequently unemployed, constantly broke, and generally apathetic towards improving his lot in life. His parents are very well off and own a condo in Hawaii. He goes there once a year on average.

To each their own but that sounds like hell to me, being stuck in a condo no matter where in the world you are. My parents are on the same boat in a way; when my great aunt passed away they got her condo in Oakland so I know I can just go down there whenever, but I kind of need to work. Workers Comp could give me a million dollars right now and I'd still wish I was working my 11.50/hr job.. then again I could go to law school, so I guess I'm apathetic in a way too, but I'm happy :)

Personally I'd like to see Iceland, but I'd need a time machine at this point, they've messed it up so much since the deregulation of the previous decade let the gas companies come in and start building more roads and leveling mountains. I was all set to go on a three week trip through rural Iceland in the late 90s, a few years before they built the first bridge in the country, and it fell through at the last minute for completely unnecessary reasons. One of my greatest regrets in life.

Yeah that's kind of like Norway for me; I'm Norwegian and I've never been to Scandinavia, and my parents keep encouraging me to buy a Eurorail pass and go all around there like they did in the 1970s.. yeah.. just like they did in the 1970s.

Oh yeah, should've looked at the username too. Guess I'm not sure where I stand on that issue. Assuming this was in the hopper people voted it up because it is really beautiful footage, but I don't think Epic Drone Videos did this his or herself, for some reason.. can't put my finger on it.. maybe it's Jack Johnson in disguise?

Didn't notice that. I say if Epic Drone Videos wants to stay, they should, so long as they can provide a number of other types of videos of the kind we enjoy.
