"Jemaine Clement" tag?

infinite zest - 2015-08-07

Oh shit! I thought this was Bowie, but I was watching Bojack who actually got McCartney. Good impression anyway. Speaking of Clement y'all should watch What We Do in the Shadows. Like srsly

Links with Jemaine Clement as either David Bowie or Vladislav the Poker:

This show really is something special.

infinite zest - 2015-08-07

Yeah. I feel bad because I watched the (possibly intentional?) leaked episodes early.. it really felt like peeking at your christmas presents because they're not very well hidden. Feel free to come up with counter-arguments because there's a lot I haven't seen, but I would say that this show is the best thing on TV.

jangbones - 2015-08-07

fuck that, I am already three episodes in and I feel very, very special

infinite zest - 2015-08-07

Yeah.. it's not like I have cable anyway. Still haven't seen the third one so now I'm where everybody else was at. I love how the trajectory of the show changed so much. The first couple episodes of the first season broke the 4th wall a bit and talked about getting cancelled, sort of like The Simpsons did. And they were funny but it wasn't until Rick Potion #9 that I knew something special was going on. It's hard to make comparisons to other shows, but since it's animated (and Roiland is on it a lot) Bojack produced similar emotions for me towards the end of the second season too.

It's really cool to think how far this show has come. If you go back and watch the early Simpsons, hell, even most of S1, you can tell its blend of family-oriented comedy is building towards the amazingness of at least S3-S8, but if you watch the early Rick and Morty (Doc and Marty), it's just a dick joke that goes on too long and is dumber than anything you find on Newgrounds, yet it turned into this.

infinite zest - 2015-08-07

Heh I went and watched the old one again.. it still makes me laugh, but for the most part my sense of humor didn't really make it past grade 7.

Caminante Nocturno - 2015-08-07

Morty only had the best of intentions.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2015-08-07

I haven't seen this episode yet but damn do I love Jermaime Clement.

Bort - 2015-08-08

JEMaine Clement. He's truly outrageous.

Truly, truly, truly outrageous.

Did anyone else like Eagle Vs. Shark or was it just me in my 20s? :D

Jet Bin Fever - 2015-08-08

Ahh Eagle Vs. Shark was okay. Kind of too quirky to really mean anything to me. It was like a New Zealand version of the Royal Tenenbaums, but slightly more dumpy and depressing.

But I LOVED "What We Do In The Shadows." Go out to Redbox and rent it if you haven't seen it yet.

infinite zest - 2015-08-08

Yeah that's what I liked about it. I lived in NZ for a small bit of time and I still dream about it, so the plot hardly mattered, but I remember it getting oddly depressing, when it looked like an attempt at Napoleon Dynamite (which I still haven't seen and probably never will). I didn't have to pay for it though.

Yeah What We Do In the Shadows is probably the best movie I've seen this year, with Mad Max coming in second place. And I loved me some Mad Max. But then again I haven't seen any other movies this year. I guess Pixels is playing nearby, what's that one about? :)

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2015-08-08

Pixels is about two hours too long.
