5 stars solely for the DJ's dance moves.

...just for the sheer possibility that this is legit revenge.

When I was in high school I was "volunteered" to work lighting for a local figure skating show that my brother was a part of. During the various rehearsals, one of the performers (who was a real prima donna type) kept on complaining about how we kept on "shining the lights in his eyes" as if we had some magical way to shine a light on someone without it hitting their eyes. Anyway, during the preview showing I had some fun by tightening the beam and shining it ONLY on his eyes for a bit. He had no way of knowing that I'd done that but it sure was satisfying.

So which is worse? A dipshit rockstar DJ playing the same soulless garbage as every other rockstar DJ for a room full of shitty people or a lighting tech who can't do their job properly because the DJ was supposedly "rude" to them? It's like a yin yang of shit.

-1 star because the full story doesn't exist. except for the spotlight, this is completely standard practice (killing all lights at the drop) and nobody can say for sure even WHERE this show was, much less exactly what the dj said or did. on balance this just looks like the lighting guy made a stupid mistake and tried to cover it up with some bullshit about how the dj was "rude". the dj doesn't look any more or less stupid than the hundreds of dj's i've watched dance along to drops. and hey lighting guy, did you fly overseas to play this show? is your fucking name on the fucking flyer? are people here to watch your fucking lights? get your act together and be a goddamned professional. talent is usually rude for a reason, and if this story is true, you just fucked a promoter out of ever working with this dj again, and possibly out of working with any artists who share the same representation/booking. great job, fuckhat. you know what that means, right? you're demoted to standing outside telling eighteen-and-unders you "do lights with some of the biggest names in the industry".
yeah i'm not bitter about the rave scene or anything.
