A ball is made to roll. That's its meaning. Its purpose. Your life is empty because you spend it trying to stop the ball from rolling. And for who? For what? You know what a ball is, Jack, that doesn't roll? It's a cheap clown nose, buddy.

Yay Clifford, and I thought of Rover too, be seeing you! Bridwell really hit on something with Clifford, he fires the imagination, how do you deal with things in the world when you're a giant?
Clifford wasn't made mythical like other giants, he's just an ordinary gentle family Dog who grows real big, he could be your neighbor's Dog, or a pooch living in the next town.
One of the first Dog stories I remember in first grade, we read it in a reading circle on the floor, then were given a copy of the book on a long strip of paper folded up, so we could take it home, and I loved that.
