That's the ghost of Hillel Slovak on the left, by the way.

spikestoyiu - 2015-08-25

Seems pretty uncalled for. I dunno, maybe he was a shitty dude, but it seems unnecessary to drag some dead dude into it.

EvilHomer - 2015-08-25

I'm willing to bet that was Trevor Dunn's idea; having read many of his blog posts before, I get the sense that he's a bit of an asshole.

Old_Zircon - 2015-08-25

This clip is apparently already on here according to dupecheck, but I can't find it. SPOILER: nobody in Fantomas minds saying mean things about Anthony Kiedis.

Chancho - 2015-08-25

Yeah, I vaguely remember this was started by the RHCP kicking Mr. Bungle off a tour/show/something.

Kicking a band off a show can cause looooooooonnnnnggggg grudges in underground circles. Horrorpops were hated by some rockabilly girls I know because they kicked some beloved band off a bill.

Old_Zircon - 2015-08-26

I think their shitty, shitty name is enough to hate Horrorpops without even experiencing the rest of them (which, if I recall correctly, lives up to the shittiness of the name - I remember thinking they were like what would happen if the people who created Pussycat Dolls decided to branch out into psychobilly - and psychobilly is already mostly a wasteland anyhow.)

Cena_mark - 2015-08-25

I know RHCP found mainstream commercial and critical success, but that's no reason to hate them.

EvilHomer - 2015-08-25

According to Wikipedia, this was done because RHCP were being playa haters, tattling on Mr Bungle and trying to get them kicked off tours. You're right that people shouldn't hate on a band just because they're lamestream, but if the band has a shitty attitude and snitches on other musicians, then hate is perfectly justified.

Basically, RHCP were Stone Cold, Mr Bungle was Rowdy Roddy. You don't go crying to The Corporation to settle your backstage beefs.

chumbucket - 2015-08-25

Don't forget there were also accusations back and forth about stealing ideas. As I recall, I think they ended up with similar album titles and I don't remember if Peppers accused Bungle over the "California" album release or the other way around. All-around it just spun more and more rock band drama hate.

EvilHomer - 2015-08-25

It's absurd that RHCP thought it can claim copyright over the word "California". Not only that, the songs on California and the songs on Californication sounded nothing alike!

Cena_mark - 2015-08-25

What kind of tattling are you talking about? Telling the man that Mr. Bungle was using drugs or something?

EvilHomer - 2015-08-25

It was a completely baseless ART THEFT accusation: the dude from the Chilli Peppers thought Faith No More (different band, same singer) was too much like his own shitty bro-rock band. That claim was BS, of course, but Anthony Kiedis was a prissy primadonna, too entitled and drug-addled to think rationally. Evidently he thought the RHCP had a copyright on playing guitars and rapping?

Besides, if anything, RHCP would be tattling on Mr Bungle for NOT using drugs! The members of Mr Bungle have never been that into substance abuse; Mike Patton himself is straight-edge, so far as I know, which is one of the reasons why CM Punk (yes, Cm Punk!) is a big fan of his music. Compare and contrast this with the Chilli Peppers, who got famous mainly because their bandmembers were walking sacks of heroin.

John Cena advocates clean living, so does Applejack. The way I see it, Mark, that means you should be on Mr Bungle's side.

Cena_mark - 2015-08-25

Being clean is cool, but not in rock n roll. If I owned a record label all my artists would undergo random screenings for illicit substances. If the tests come out clean they're fired.
Being clean is one thing, but straight edge is lame. John Cena likes to drink, and we all know what's up with the Cider at Sweet Apple Acres.

EvilHomer - 2015-08-25

Yeah, all those drug screenings for alcohol, right? "Pee in a cup, I want to test for the presence of beer over the last two weeks." kek

Rock and roll is no different from professional wrestling. You're a performer, and you need to be physically, mentally, and emotionally in control, so that you can deliver your best work. John Cena drinks in moderation, and I'm sure the guys from Mr Bungle do, too! But that's not what we're talking about when we get to RHCP. The Chilli Peppers are junkies. The Chilli Peppers are the musical equivalent of Benoit - juicing till their brains are fried, then murdering their wives and kids. They're like Rarity, strung out on Tom, and treating their friends and co-workers like assholes because of it.

Cena_mark - 2015-08-25

Wrestlers did their best work when coked up and on pain killers. Benoit went mad from brain damage not drugs.
Any who the art theft accusations are not far fetched. As I said before, they sound like a ripoff of RHCP as Kiedis knew Patton was biting his style.
Its pretty low for Patton to resort to slanderous mockeries. Such acts will get you prison time or a death sentence in CWCVille.

EvilHomer - 2015-08-25

Oh my god, Cena, how many times do I have to tell you this? Mr Bungle does not sound like RHCP! The "art theft" accusation was about a different band, Faith No More. Specifically, it got started because Faith No More released a truly awesome rap single, "Epic", which for obvious reasons, wound up getting more buzz in Europe than any of the Shitty Pooper's dumb songs. As a result, Anthony Kiedis got all jelly and butthurt, and he tried to sabotage Faith No More's career.

If you don't believe me, read this:

http://anthonykiedis.net/about-the-man/mike-pattonmr-bungle-fe ud/

BTW, according to CWCville law, it is not slander if what you do is parodic in nature. Any songs you hear in this clip, that may seem similar to Chilli Pepper songs in real life, are purely coincidental or otherwise parodic.

Cena_mark - 2015-08-25

I listened to the song Epic and it does sound like a RHCP, I see why Kiedis got so angry.

You fail in your knowledge CWCVille Law. As you know Asperchu was a parody, and the Asperchu 4 died for it. Officially the verdict was for the murder of Simonla Rosechu, but the actual court transcripts show the vast majority of deliberation was on the issue of mockeries.

EvilHomer - 2015-08-25

The saddest part about it is, 'Epic" wasn't even one of FNM's better songs! It was good, sure, and light-years ahead of whatever crap the Ice Cold Dill Pickles were barfing out, but in all honesty it's not one of my favorite tracks on Angel Dust. Seeing as "Epic" was only an average FNM track, and FNM was basically a watered-down Mr Bungle, that means the Silly Preppers were feeling threatened by a song that was several orders of magnitude below what Mike Patton was capable of putting out!

EvilHomer - 2015-08-25

"The verdict was for the murder of Simonla". There you go. It doesn't matter how much deliberation there was about Asperchu's slanderous mockeries, the fact of the matter is, the legal ruling was based on murder.

And if you knew anything about CWCville law, you'd know that there is a huge distinction between mockeries and parodies: things that are parodic in nature (such as the way Mr Bungle are fighting back against the trolls here) are a protected class of speech.

Cena_mark - 2015-08-25

The trial was almost completely about slanderous mockeries. Simonla was an afterthought to get critics off his back for killing the Aperpedia 4 over a comic they drew, but the comic was the true reason for the brutal capital punishment.
There is a huge distinction between parody and mockery in CWCVille law. Parody is used when you appreciate something and wish to use it. Sonichu is a parody of Sonic and Pikachu and through Sonichu Chris shows love for both. Darkbind Sonichu is a parody of Link, Sonic, and Pikachu.
Mockeries are when you imitate something to show derision. The Asperchu character is meant to insult CWC, therefore it is a slanderous mockery.

EvilHomer - 2015-08-25

No, that's not what parodies are at all. CWC routinely made parodic revenge comics about people or things that had trolled him - jerkops, Slaweel, Alec Benson Leary. Anthony Kiedis tried to ruin Mike Patton's Love Quest by getting him kicked out of, what to him and bandmates was, the equivalent of PVCC.

Kiedis is Slaweel. He's lucky Mr Bungle went so easy on him.

chumbucket - 2015-08-25

Gotta love Mike Patton for stuff like this.

Cena_mark - 2015-08-25

This is beyond lame and disrespectful. They even stoop to mocking their prior drug use and they have a guy dressed as the ghost of Hillel Slovak. This insult tops Weird Al's use of a very serious song about heroine abuse and turning it into the Bedrock Anthem.

Old_Zircon - 2015-08-25

"This is beyond lame and disrespectful."

All in all a fitting tribute.

EvilHomer - 2015-08-25

Typical Chilli Pooper, can't even take a joke.

You do know that "Bedrock Anthem/Yabadabadoo Now" was an original song, right? RHCP ripped off Weird Al, not the other way 'round.

Old_Zircon - 2015-08-25

They ripped of Crazytown, too.

EvilHomer - 2015-08-25

That's true! They did!

As a a matter of fact, the Chilli Peppers got started as a Crazytown cover band, if memory serves. The Peppers started writing their own material because they felt Crazytown's songs were becoming too cerebral and difficult to play.

Cena_mark - 2015-08-25

What in blazes are you talking about? Crazytown started in the Mid 90s, Peppers go way back into the 80s.

You may say Kiedis can't take a joke, but Patton comes off as a childish bully for doing this. You might say that he started the joke, but the joke is on him.

EvilHomer - 2015-08-25

Crazytown started in 1983. Look it up.

I'm guessing you're trying to reference this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKDo6g4CCeU

... which is clear evidence that FNM is better than the Chilly Pickles. And since when are parodies "childish"? This is no different than all those times Chris Chan drew his enemies in his comics; CWC murders his trolls on paper, MP sings about his trolls on stage. They are the same.

Cena_mark - 2015-08-25

You're saying CWC's actions weren't childish? His turning his enemies into comic villains overflows with childishness. Especially his handling of Mary Lee Walsh. Rather than trying to understand her arguments against attraction signs, he turns her into a love hating witch. Granted this is a much better way of venting than violence (granted he did cursemehameha her IRL), but it's still childish.
This mockery is mean spirited and childish. Just mocking the music is fine, but mocking his drug use and deceased band mate is just low down dirty TROLLING!

Adham Nu'man - 2015-08-25

Jesus Christ, get a room you two.

EvilHomer - 2015-08-25

Oh, so YOU'RE trolling Chris now too, huh? I see how it is.

I addressed the matter of the dead band mate above: I suspect it was Trevor Dunn's idea, as Trevor Dunn is an asshole. It's not really that bad, though - the drug use is something that the Silly Preppers were inordinately proud of and deserved to be mocked for, while the dead band mate, they weren't really being mean to him, they were just including him in the fun, because why not?

I can guarantee you, if GWAR had of handled this, the dead guy would have been disemboweled and raped on-stage. All in good humor, of course!

Cena_mark - 2015-08-26

Guess we'll have to add this to the long list of things we can't agree on. Mike Patton is the Derpy Hooves of music.
Have you gotten around to watching Steven Universe yet... No matter you'd probably start arguing that Pearl is somehow cooler than Amnyfest.

Old_Zircon - 2015-08-26

Hey, can you two change the topic to the true fact that Green Jello started at least two years before Gwar did, and that Gwar probably ripped them off?

infinite zest - 2015-08-26

Besides the costumes and the "novelty" act in both of them, I don't notice a big similarity between GJ and GWAR.. Also they were friends and GJ actually started using GWAR's foam costume design idea instead of the Paper mâché and stuff.. I dunno GJ always seemed more "comedy" rock like you knew they were just wearing costumes and writing funny songs, whereas GWAR were GWAR, to the point where I had most of their albums and never heard the name Dave Brockie until maybe 5 years ago.

Old_Zircon - 2015-08-26

SHHHH

Old_Zircon - 2015-08-25

After skimming a couple dozen of the above posts I've decided that Cena_mark and Evilhomer are most likely the same person.

Cena_mark - 2015-08-26

Ha ha ha. If I only had a dollar for every time I was accused of being someone else here. There are huge differences between Homer and I. His favorite ponies are pegasi mine are earth ponies. He draws, I record music. He was in the Army, I'm in the Coast Guard. He hasn't even given Steven Universe a chance yet, I'm a huge fan. So many differences.

EvilHomer - 2015-08-26

Don't forget, he likes John Cena, I like CM Punk.

We're practically opposites.

chumbucket - 2015-08-26

I take two steps forward.
I take two steps back...

Old_Zircon - 2015-08-26

Which one is MC Skat Kat?

Bort - 2015-08-27

Multiple complaints about this video:

1) The acronym's wrong.

2) They don't do the time warp, not a single time, much less again.

3) They're not in costumes from the movie.

4) They're not doing any of "the lines" or using squirt guns or saying "it's SOOOOOPER asshole!"

This is probably the worst RHPS fan thing I've ever seen.

Waugh - 2015-11-06

borrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
