Love this guy. My friend from college recently posted a picture with him on Facebook.

great mashup

I don't get it. Puddles, I mean. He's not even that good a singer.

Why do people like him so much?

baleen - 2015-08-27

He's a giant creepy clown making a comment about image and art as a commodity, man.

So's Violent Jay, and yet nobody likes him, they all treat him like a joke.

Oh he's a damn good singer, plus he's a surly clown.

But I've never seen him performing with this man:

Most likely they're deliberately avoiding each other.

Eh. His voice is thin and lacks force, which is pretty surprising, given how large a man he is! His phrasing is flat, he doesn't appear to have a very wide range, and would it kill him to throw in some embellishments here and there? He *looks* impressive, and he certainly has stage presence... until he opens his mouth. Then the magic ends.

I think the second clip is (slightly) better; he'd probably get over pretty well if he used a Kingpin-from-Daredevil gimmick!

EvilHomer - 2015-08-27

I'll give Puddles this much, though: he's still a better singer than Bowie.

@EH I'll agree this isn't that great; I guess it answers the question that nobody ever asked: "what would Pinball Wizard sound like to Folsom Prison" and now we know. He does sound like Cash, who didn't have that great of a voice himself.

But if you haven't seen it he does a really great cover of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah, which is probably my favorite cover of that song, clown make-up or not. And the Lorde cover's a million times better than the original too.

Also he's more Pagliacci than Violent J, and not just on a musical level. ICP's lyrics do deal with isolation, anger, even depression, but find enough people who have similar issues to relate with and you've got yourself an army! Puddles' outlook is that he'll be an army of one at best.

baleen - 2015-08-27

I like Puddles Pity Party. His singing is fine, it is neither thin nor does it lack force.

He's making it work for him with what he's got.

Homer, stop doing the same quoting thing as JHMF. It makes it too obvious that you guys are the same person.

What if every user on poetv.com was Evilhomer except for you! Kind of like how there were no real girls to chat with on Ashley Madison, just a bunch of sexbots and the same guy controlling us.

On an unrelated note (at least to Puddles the Clown) I'm pretty sure I was once briefly a ghostwriter for Ashley Madison, but the name of the dating site was never revealed to me, just a detailed list of their activities and plans that I could work with to come up with a response, hopefully resulting in more "donations."
