That guy - 2015-09-05

Physics applies at every level.

Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2015-09-05

Guys got a creepy voice / mode of speech. Could not watch much.

SolRo - 2015-09-05

I think David Zayaz went off the deep end.

Miss Henson's 6th grade class - 2015-09-05

The psychological needs that drive this sort of anti-science thinking are not usually expressed as candidly as they are in the first minute or so of this video.

EvilHomer - 2015-09-05

I wouldn't really call this guy "anti-science". He makes a number of fairly obvious errors both in his experimental setup and in the conclusions which he draws, but nevertheless, he knows the value of observation and experimentation.

His thinking could more accurately be described as "bad-science", not "anti-science".

SolRo - 2015-09-05

That's exactly what's happening, devils-advocate-bot

TheOtherCapnS - 2015-09-05

Don't engage SolRo. That's what fuels him.

EvilHomer - 2015-09-05

I'm not engaging SolRo. I'm engaging Miss Henson's 6th Grade Class, who, no offense, is at least 50x cooler/smarter/kinder than both you and SolRo put together.

Besides, SolRo agrees with me. I'm always happy to fuel agreement!

yogarfield - 2015-09-05

please, all of you are so sexagesimally deluded.

TheOtherCapnS - 2015-09-05

Big typo on my previous post. What I meant to say to Miss Henson's 6th grade class, and only to MH6thgc, is that since I'm not a pedantic, punctilious, and obviously trolling loser, let me say, "Yes!"

I love how he displays all his insecurities in that first minute. Great observation. It's delightful and simultaneously somewhat sad to see someone with such intellectual limitations doing that shuck and jive that to them must be somewhat comforting and eventually becomes their broken, pathetic reality.

Redford - 2015-09-05

His need for a scientific solution is not based on a want for the truth. It's based on a falsehood based on ancient propaganda which he believes because he's terrified an omnipotent entity will hate him if he doesn't.

SolRo - 2015-09-05

Well then, that's a good list of completely incorrect interpretations of several scientific concepts.

Gmork - 2015-09-05

5 stars for how much people believing this bothers me but shouldn't.

Meerkat - 2015-09-05

I just talked to a guy who doesn't believe the atmosphere can absorb heat.

Meerkat - 2015-09-05

The reason it bothers you is because this person, and people like this person, will eventually cause the extinction of the human race by wilfully choosing to deny reality just to piss off some hippies.

fluffy - 2015-09-05

So did the Chinese meditation ball come from the East or the West?

SolRo - 2015-09-05

DOES NOT COMPUTE!!!!

Old_Zircon - 2015-09-05

Flat earth stuff got even better when I learned recently that it was more or less invented by the church sometime in the late middle ages or early renaissance as a propaganda tool to prove how superior Christian nations were to the brutish Pagans who were so backward they thought the world was flat (they didn't, humans knew the world was round and had a reasonably good idea of its size for a LOOONG time).

TheOtherCapnS - 2015-09-05

Yup. The ancient Greeks realized the Earth was curved just by noticing that distant ships' hulls began to disappear before the masts. You don't even need optics to see that on a clear day. There is pretty much no point in history that the average educated, sane person thought the world was actually flat.

Scrimmjob - 2015-09-05
