Fuck it, I'm out, where's my check?

Donovan > Dylan
Discuss.
Also, I'm getting an ad for a Savage Garden album from amazon.

Old_Zircon - 2015-10-13 Ted Lucas had them both beat but nobody cared.

infinite zest - 2015-10-13 I'm getting Pizza Hut Twisted Crust Pizza Ad! Yay Pizza Time!
My favorites from around then are Townes Van Zandt and Gram Parsons so I guess if I teleported back in time I'd wonder if I cared about either Dylan or Donovan. That documentary would've been more fun if Pizza Hut Twisted Crust Pizza!

Scrimmjob - 2015-10-14 Given the choice I'd be more likely to listen to Donovan, although any time I've seen the guy interviewed he comes off like a real twat.
Lately my favorite hippy trippy stuff has been that one Mark Fry album, and Norman Greenbaums album Petaluma.
|
Old_Zircon - 2015-10-14 That Mark Fry album is one of my all time favorites, really good stuff. The rediscovered master sounds great, too, even though they fucked up the track sequence on the LP reissue (first track of side 2 is at the end of side 1, and it fucks up the flow of the album).
|
Old_Zircon - 2015-10-14 Scrimmjob, check out Galactic Ramble by a band called Parameter. I don't really know their history but I think you'd like it. Also check out Fingletoad, Strange and Siho, which is some kids in the midwest (Colorado I think, I forget) who really liked Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere and weed. Both really great, low fidelity, shambling private press stuff.

infinite zest - 2015-10-14 It's kind of like if Mascis and Malkmus decided to meet and talk about guitars solos; Malkmus played first and then Mascis. One would win based on skill, but I'd still rather listen to Pavement than Dino Jr.
|
Scrimmjob - 2015-10-14 I've not heard either of those, I'll check it out!

How the fuck did they get him to do this?
He is notoriously against anything like this.
They must have built a jazz museum for him in New Orleans or something.

baleen - 2015-10-13 And leave it to IBM to market their product awfully. "Yeah, we hired Dylan to tell you that our product can't do anything useful. Thanks and come back next year."
|
|
infinite zest - 2015-10-14 Old timers will appreciate the halcyon days of "IBM! Remember when people used to say 'IBM' instead of 'PC?' That was us man!"

I think it would be delightful if Watson was actually just trolling us and has a secret plan to eliminate all useless parasites from the earth. And that trolling us is part of that plan.

You think Ulillillia is Bob Dylan's son?
|
Oscar Wildcat - 2015-10-14 Nope. He's the bastard child of Dylan and Watson.
