THEY GOT THE BAND BACK TOGETHER!

My expectations were lofty as hell and they still exceeded them.

I dunno, I wasn't too impressed by this sketch compared to the similar one about sovereign nations on Mr. Show. But it's also the only sketch I've seen before, so, to quote Cross I'm gonna watch the shit out of it! In the meantime 5 happy stars for Bob And David and the gang.

jangbones - 2015-11-02

the first few eps and sketches will probably be a little uneven, it will take time to get into a rhythm

Unfortunately the series is only going to be six-or-so episodes.. not too much time. But we'll see. I guess it's gotta be hard when so many other shows, including Key and Peele, were influenced by your old show and you're trying to make a new one. Hell, I'd be perfectly happy if it was just them remaking old Mr. Show sketches.

jangbones, I hope you're right

I haven't loved either sketch I've seen so far, but I think they've earned my patience.

IZ, sovereign citizens are less impressive now, too, so I think this is a pretty fair reflection of the material Bob and David have to work with.

Back in the 90s they were fortifying cabins and having armed standoffs with the ATF, these days they're arguing about moving violations.

The one thing about this, though, if I may take a Mr. Show sketch way too seriously, is that Key should probably be the driver. In my admittedly limited firsthand experience, the people who do this tend to be black men, and I kind of sympathize with their situation a bit, since the stakes can be pretty high for a black man who gets pulled over.

Old_Zircon - 2015-11-16

Clearly I posted that last one before actually, you know, watching the sketch.

It just occured to me that their direct British analogues are Reeves and Mortimer.
