This is a pretty weak attempt at trolling. I doubt Christine will fall for it.

EvilHomer - 2015-11-04

I don't know, I could believe it. She's certainly fat and dumpy-looking enough to settle for our hero, and Christine is a bonafide celebrity artist now, so he's bound to start attracting star fuckers.

You know what would be funny? If one of us sent her e-mails, pretending to be Christine.

EvilHomer - 2015-11-04

I'd like to know how to get in touch with Chris myself, too. Not to date him or troll him, of course; it's just that I tried entering the "Guess Robotnik's New Name" Contest, and he never got back to me! Granted I didn't get the name right, but I got REALLY fucking close - closer than the rest of those jerks - so I think he owes me some free Soncihu swag. :(

BiggerJ - 2015-11-04

What you need to remember is that Chris's autism means they have no 'mind-reading' ability - they lack the ability to detect peoples' intentions that most people take for granted.

blue vein steel - 2015-11-04

so what is POE's current editorial position on CWC?

Cena_mark - 2015-11-04

We see growth. We like that he's doing his own thing as a female. We wish him well and are against trolling him.

Jet Bin Fever - 2015-11-04

Yeah, I would agree with that. I want for him to be happy, and I think the internet is destroying him. A lot of it is self-inflicted of course, which I attribute to terrible parenting and a lack of support in his life. Hopefully he finds a way to become self-sufficient too.

That guy - 2015-11-04

hoping for murder-suicide, taking Sarkisian with him

jangbones - 2015-11-04

as crazy and attention-desperate as CWC is, his trolls are infinitely worse people

simon666 - 2015-11-05

Want her to be happy, no?

memedumpster - 2015-11-05

He's the 21st century Hunchback of Notre Dame, and we should all be happy no one is telling him to kidnap women to then be framed for murder and hanged. Chris Chan is not going to starve to death in vigil over anyone's grave because even the worst of us aren't that bad. He brings out the better nature in the worst people somehow, even if by juxtaposition alone.

blue vein steel - 2015-11-05

thanks. Haven't really kept up, other than the recent gamestop video. Would definitely agree that his trolls are much worse people.

Doc Victor - 2015-11-04

I'm generally against voting up (let alone submitting) the Chris Chan shit on this site, but I guess I am doing this to make a point. Some guy who nobody gives a fuck about once said something to the effect of "there is more written about Chris Chan than there is about George Washington". Therein lies the appeal, as far as I am concerned. The fanatical, all inclusive chronicling of the life of one slightly warped autistic man and his adventures on the internet has yielded some hilarious results, mostly due to the bizarre and somewhat perverse nature of Chris' character, and if not that, just as likely that he represents a kind of funhouse mirror version of a regular person. By exploring, analyzing, ridiculing, and contemplating the antics of another person so totally, we are able to look at the darkness within ourselves in a new light. He is a uniquely American figure, horrifying and pathetic and hilarious and lovable at once. Kind of like a real life Ignatius J. Reilly.
The flip side to this is what you are looking at here. While we can all get a chuckle at Chris, this is the kind of person that is actually interested in actively engaging him. Fat, stupid, but believing that they are somehow superior to Chris. Despite everything above, this makes it almost entirely not worth it to me. Anything that actively encourages the populace to be stupider and more pathetic than they already are is probably not a good thing. What this ultimately means is that anyone that partakes in the CWC fandom/obsession is encouraging this sort of thing to get worse and worse in a roundabout sort of way. Every time someone hearkens back to something funny that happened, or draws a ludicrous piece of fan art, or does anything besides watch, it is basically urging on these people to dive back in and keep fucking with Chris. Patting him on the back for more or less making the same fucked up choices is just as bad.
I'm not going to get into all the gender shenanigans currently transpiring or the ethics of trolling or counter trolling, but my point is that despite having enjoyed a tremendous amount of humor from Chris, we'd all be just as well to just put this shit to bed and move on.

MacGyver Style Bomb - 2015-11-04

Chris is legitimately mentally ill, forever stuck with the intelligence and emotional maturity of a ten year old child. Bob and Barb took a bad situation and made it worse, refusing to listen to the recommendations of teachers and doctors, convinced they knew better than anyone else in these matters. They fueled their child's delusions and naivete, never telling Chris the things he/her needed to hear about, holding back reality since explaining the truth would be too hard. In other words: Chris has enough legitimate excuses to fill... a wiki.

These people... do not.

ashtar. - 2015-11-04

I've always thought that a lot of the appeal of CWC is that he's so thoroughly pathetic and horrible that it gives people who are only mostly pathetic and horrible someone to look down on and feel better that they're not that guy. He's like some kind of internet projection tulpa, a sort of physical manifestation of people's fears about failure, loserdom, and loneliness that they can then deal with through bullying.

SolRo - 2015-11-04

so we are self-loathing and CWC is our reflection in a mirror?

MacGyver Style Bomb - 2015-11-04

Staring into the abyss and all that.

BiggerJ - 2015-11-04

I think one of the reasons so many people find making fun of Chris Chan and other people with high-functioning autism acceptable is because it's so hard to tell which bad behaviors are the result of autism and which aren't - they can't tell where the autism ends and the person begins. But because the bad behaviors caused by high-functioning autism are so similar to the bad behaviors of assholes who have no such excuse, many people consider it too risky to let an autistic person get away with ANY of their bad behaviors in case any given bad behavior is their own fault (and the fact that at least some people with autism and who are self diagnosed use it as an excuse to get away with bad behavior REALLY doesn't help). And when ALL those behaviors are blamed on the person, this inherently dehumanizes them, making it easier to mistreat them (see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAIP6fI0NAI ).

themilkshark - 2015-11-05

Chris Chan is fat

oddeye - 2015-11-05

I want the more normal, non bra wearing, non cum eating CWC back.

EvilHomer - 2015-11-05

He's probably been recycling his navy since he was a kid, and the muscle bra's been around since at least 2009.

StanleyPain - 2015-11-05

In the competition between Chris-Chan's grossness and the grossness of fucking 4chan/reddit blob people's Cheeto stained trolling, Chris-Chan easily comes out the more positive figure.

My opinions on Chris Chan generally haven't changed much: I think he is not so mentally ill that he not capable of being moral or understanding ethics, and much of his behavior in the past was easily worthy of mockery and he was quite a hateful piece of shit. If he has genuinely improved and is moving into a better place, then so be it.

That guy - 2015-11-05

*****
just for you thinking CWC isn't batshit crazy

Anaxagoras - 2015-11-05

What? He didn't say that "CWC isn't batshit crazy". He said that she's sane enough to be responsible for at least some of her moral failings. (Also, he said that if CWC has moved beyond those failings, good on her.)

StanleyPain - 2015-11-05

CWC isn't batshit crazy, he's an autistic who was raised by awful people who simply allowed him to get worse and worse without any intervention. He did some fucked up shit and behaved like a tard, and I think he knew he was doing some shitty things just because of internet fame. He needs help that he may not ever get, but he seems like lately he might possibly be improving. The whole gamestop thing may have had an effect on him. Who knows.

StanleyPain - 2015-11-05

I apologize for using incorrect pronouns. Not trying to be a dick, I just can't think of CWC as "Christine" after all these years.

If she wants it that way, then whatever.

EvilHomer - 2015-11-05

In my expert opinion, the improvements we're seeing are the result of the Impulse Gay Social Club (the first positive social setting he's had since the GAMePLACe banned him from their Pokemon leagues), as well as the recent victory he achieved over Sega.

What he "needs" is to keep making art, and keep selling it so he can support himself after Barb dies. Maybe get a Patreon instead of just relying on his Etsy and the Tugboat. It'd also be nice if he could find love and happiness, but he's going to do that on his terms or not at all; it's pointless to give him backseat lectures about the way he should be living his life.
