Not a big fan of the running commentary thing, though, I like the ones that let the crap stand on its own.

Kids who grew up with source ports forget that messign with the HOM effect and deliberately leaving out textures to fake deep water and stuff like that were considered completely valid ways to push the Doom engine back when it was new.

About a decade after I uploaded my crappy wad, someone somehow tracked me down from my old email and asked permission to update it with a "fixed" version he had made. Everything that was fixed was a deliberate "special effect." The crappiness remained intact, though.

I wonder if mine are still floating around out there. I put them on BBS like 20 years ago, but people have gotta still have them. To those people I'm sorry.

I'm pretty sure it is. Sadly, I couldn't find my final version with the oldschool Doom special effects intact, either among my old floppies or online. To be fair, last time I looked was around 2003.
