Try to find the 2012 movie about Ramon Films, "Wakaliwood: The Documentary."

Best documentary I've seen in quite a while, and really changes the experience of watching the movies themselves.

I would LOVE to see some Hollywood movies done by this VJ.

In the documentary they talk about how this is the standard way that movies are localized for Ugandan audiences, the VJ will stand next to the TV in the video hall where people go to see them, and just talk over them like this, kind of a mix of commentary, translation and describing the action. It's one of the coolest things I've seen in a long time. The whole movie is just really inspiring.

I checked, and the full version of the movie that was submitted a while back has the translation/commentary the whole way through.

Holy shit. Going to watch it again. I can't remember when I watched it but it was before that one was submitted and I don't think it had the commentary.

Same here, I remember skipping to these scenes mostly.

The one on here looks like it was made after the trailer went viral and the documentary came out, there's a little intro that has footage from the documentary. So they must have had the VJ do an English translation of it for the people in Europe and the USA as a kind of tie in to the documentary (which he is also in briefly).

It's really good so far.

It almost reminds me of Wizard People Dear Reader, in a weird way.
