IP Man v. Rape Man

Anaxagoras - 2015-11-15

Intellectual Property Man and Rape Man were the two worst Mega-man villains to date.

In addition, Rape Man's level was pretty disturbing.

infinite zest - 2015-11-15

Now I just wanna see IP Man v. IT Man.

infinite zest - 2015-11-15

or ISP Man

duck&cover - 2015-11-15

Equip vagina dentata.

Why does everyone hate Ip Man so much?

infinite zest - 2015-11-15

I never knew there was hate. I was told the first one was good but I didn't see it, didn't know there was a sequel, and now this. It's the Rocky franchise all over again!

duck&cover - 2015-11-16

I mean in the movies. Whole mobs of people everywhere trying to kill him.

Anaxagoras - 2015-11-16

How else is he going to kick ass if people don't hate on him? He's just a peaceful man, training in martial arts for no reason, when those other nationalities force him to kick their ass!

Seriously though, I really like this series, despite its jingoistic Chinese nationalistic streak. I'm looking forward to seeing the crass American get his comeuppance.

infinite zest - 2015-11-16

Although Anaxagoras' comment rings true; they kind of did rip the intellectual property from Wong Kar Wai. But, who knows what that would've been like. I like him as a director, but he's sort of the Chinese Jim Jarmusch. They'd probably just sit around and talk about fighting.

Cena_mark - 2015-11-16

IP Man, Fist of Legend, and many other martial arts films have went with the anti-Japanese sentiments, but how's that any different from films like Inglorious Bastards? To the Chinese the Imperial Japanese were like Nazis, only worse to them since they were getting raped and murdered by the Imperial Japanese, as opposed to the Nazis.

Anaxagoras - 2015-11-15

Puh-leeze. It's hardly believable that the Chinaman could beat Iron Mike.

StanleyPain - 2015-11-15

Uh..I thought Donnie Yen said he was 100% done with Ip Man since there's like a dozen Ip Man films in China now all competing for the same timeline or something.

misterbuns - 2015-11-15

Probably my favorite racist propaganda franchise

Hooker - 2015-11-15

There are a ton of ways this movie could go, most of them ludicrous and idiotic beyond all compare, and I am SO down for all of those possibilities. I find it inconceivable that I won't love this film.

Hooker - 2015-11-15

You know how a lot of you feel about the new Star Wars movie, even though you won't admit it? That's how I feel about Ip Man 3.

Cena_mark - 2015-11-16

How's this racist? Cause they villanize the Imperial Japanese soldiers? That's pretty justified in my opinion.

EvilHomer - 2015-11-16

The Imperial Japanese Army was trying to save Asia from the yoke of its European colonial oppressors. They were a bulwark against communism and against imperialism; a highly developed, highly motivated culture of genetically superior warrior-scientists. The IJA were not villains! They were heroes!

Tennōheika Banzai! Ichioku gyokusai!!!

misterbuns - 2015-11-16

Which IP Man film had the Japanese officers with prosthetic buck teeth, I forget.

misterbuns - 2015-11-16

also watching Asians portray black people is always great. Like that kinda watermelon black crow kinda great.

TeenerTot - 2015-11-16

I enjoyed the first one. But...he was already an old man (dead?) when this movie (seemingly) takes place. Does he time travel?

MurgatroidMendelbaum - 2015-11-16

No, you see, While Ip Man 2 and Ip Man 4 were sequels, the one released between them actually took place as a prequel. This is clearly meant to fill in the timeline gap left by all the money they haven't milked out of it yet.

TeenerTot - 2015-11-16

Well if there's no time machine and talking dog, forget it.
