I guess videogames were too edgy for the Mr. Belvedere audience.

1986 was a heady year for video games, Zelda would have blown your typical ABC viewers mind. Probably still would.

Heh.. Zelda was the reason why we couldn't have Nintendo, because my neighbor across the street got nightmares from it and it was therefore deemed too violent.

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2015-11-16

Hope you beat your neighbor up because you missed out on a great game.

I was only 4 years old so I didn't give a shit, but I felt bad for my older brother, because having Nintendo = popularity and eventually we got one about the time Super NES came out because my dad developed a Tetris addiction of his own. Still never really played original Zelda though.

No, see, big videogame has too much power in our society so they had to create this clever metaphor for it.

The pinball machine actually represents a video game machine!

StanleyPain - 2015-11-16

May I suggest a Brocktoon tag.

Done and done! And I mean done!

infinite zest - 2015-11-16

But the Fan Club clip needs one; it's not easy to find. If you update it I'll let you park in the handicapped spot at my brother's convenience store

Videos can only be updated by the people who submitted them, sadly.

Calling Hailey2006!!!

My grandparents had that same Fireball table in their garage. It's a "classic" but even then I thought it was too simple a table.

Now, the Addams Family and Star Wars tables of the mid-90's they were the best balance of complexity without getting too cluttered. Addams family in particular is remembered quite fondly.

There was also the Theater of Magic table that was pretty good too, but I may have just liked it for the cleavage.

infinite zest - 2015-11-16

Yeah, I like to joke that Addams Family is the Shawshank Redemption of pinball, because it's always rated #1 on ipdb like the movie is on imdb and nobody really knows why. ToM is probably my favorite tied with Medieval Madness. Star Wars was also good, but Data East/Sega encouraged and even rewarded you for death saves, which damages the machine, so you don't see too many of them anymore :(

I really liked this one called Genesis, where you built parts of a robot and then brought it to life and it would be revealed through a window in the playfield like that robot lady from Metropolis. I got so good at it I would put in a quarter and play all afternoon and then leave someone with 10 or 20 free games when I had to go to class.

Old_Zircon - 2015-11-16

Elvira Scared Stiff or nothing.

infinite zest - 2015-11-16

OH cool that backglass is amazing! It reminds me of Python Angelo's work, who you might know from Pinbot, which was a similar theme, but I've never heard of or played that one!

Scared Stiff is probably number 3 with me followed by Twilight Zone. But word has it they're doing an HD DOHO mod for it, which might pop it up to number one if they can do the boobs right.
