Well played, cats.

infinite zest - 2015-11-20

The shrug at :45 or so is great. Cats win.

Old_Zircon - 2015-11-21

This really is the best possible outcome for the stuation. If they'd just done some tricks who would remember?

This show hasn't been cancelled yet?

Simillion - 2015-11-21

I seriously think this every time I watch it.

I'm kinda conflicted on this. On one hand, yay Kitties and yay Kitty rescue programs and raising awareness. But on the other hand, it has that circus mentality which is pretty much like "oh yeah these Elephants and Lions are much happier here than they were when we 'rescued' them.." And despite my best efforts with the litter box plenty of toys and everything, my cat HATED the U-Haul ride I had to take him on. Pretty sure that's universal.

That's why I donate my time and money to organizations like PAW Team, which provides veterinary care to those who could otherwise not afford it, or suggestions for relocation, which kind of hits the core of the cat homeless problem. And it's not just the homeless; I've lived in houses where everybody gets evicted and all that's left is the cat because nobody knew who's it was. This organization's a noble cause but it's kind of like building a homeless shelter and having people pay to watch the dwellers dance around on a stage.

My mom had a cat that would sit on her lap and sleep on the way to the vet for checkups.

Old_Zircon - 2015-11-20

Honestly, the most inspiring animal work I've ever seen was a woman who was on a bus with me in San Diego a few years ago. When she first got on I assumed she was homeless but it turned out she was part of a neuter/spay-and-release program with the local stray population and personally fed nearly 200 undomesticatable feral cats every day.

Old_Zircon - 2015-11-20

Because after making sure they don't reproduce, keeping them fed reduces their impact on wildlife.

Yeah.. the first cat I ever had I sort of tricked by taking him out in his carrier and just going around and going back home and a few cat treats so there was a positive association there. LIke, nobody likes getting on airplanes but if the assumption was that you'd be immediately shot then you'd be freaked about flying too. But that cat was born in a cardboard box in the place I was living so it didn't know that Cat Carrier = Vet. Or worse. So driving around with any animal is a necessity when you have to, but why subject them to it all the time?

Old_Zircon - 2015-11-21

Yeah, of course I agree but some of them don't seem to mind for some reason.

Miss Henson's 6th grade class - 2015-11-20

These girls must be the most patient people on earth.

It's all been down hill since he killed off Harvey Birdman.

I actually helped on their Kickstarter video so this was especially painful for me to watch. I was rooting for it to go awesome, and it really wasn't.

The actual show they put on is surprisingly entertaining with probably a 80/20 mix of tricks and fuckery. Pretty much the reverse of this. There's also a lot of banter which they cut out of this, which is a big part of the charm.

They have really done a lot of good work with helping cats get adopted and they're all really nice, and patient, girls. We were all hoping for a Colbert bump, but with that performance I have a feeling they won't be getting that new bus...
