Quintron rules.

Yeah, Quintron and Ms Pussycat is actually the last time I remember having fun at a show that wasn't a local friend's band or something. I did miss out on Nobunny this time which might have been as much fun (years ago the show got very chaotic and he swore that he was never ever coming back to Portland) but the venue they both played at burned down.. :(

I remember this! I always thought Mr. Oizeau should have had one ;)

It's funny, I learned about Drumbuddy (and Quintron) because my brother was playing some weird show years ago at some little venue in NY with Laurie Anderson, and she had one. And the topic of the Drumbuddy became much more interesting than the fact that Lou Reed was just standing there right off stage.

Lou Reed was never that interesting, he had like 3 really good songs (Candy Says, Pale Blue Eyes and I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt on the third one - I assume Cale was behind Lady Godiva's Operation but maybe Lou wrote Ocean).

Yeah.. the thing about Reed was he was a product of Tin Pan Alley, kinda like Roky Erickson was a product of.. I dunno.. anyway they were great at writing pop songs and then drugs happened. I was always much more fascinated by Anderson musically. What's weird is she actually opened for my brother's band. But, it's cute that Lou would go to every one of her shows.

Bort is about 75% of the way there, all he needs is an old turntable and some white tape and he'll be golden. How about it, Bort?

DO IT! DO IT NOW!

That's amazing.

Have you seen or heard Quintron before? It seems like something you'd like, knowing what you like. The music videos (I posted one on here a while back) don't really do it justice, but the live show is to me what live Rocky Horror is to Rocky Kids, complete with a puppet show. I'd follow him on tour all the time if I had the time and the money.

Cena_mark - 2015-11-19

No I haven't, but anyone who invents their own unique drum machine deserves my attention.

Old_Zircon - 2015-11-19

I really wish I'd seen Quintron, I still haven't.

I also found out a couple weeks ago that Legowelt played in Providence this summer and I missed it, I really slept on him until fairly recently.
