I don't much like the trend in journalism where the reporter's feelings and reflection on the issuing which is being reported are part of the report itself. It makes the significance of the story/issue hinge on how being exposed to it affects the reporter and it's affect is supposed to be the truth of the matter. But what happens to the reporter emotionally/mentally isn't necessarily significant and unintentionally amplifies certain aspects of the issue, making them appear more salient than they are.
