Feels weird being the PoETV harbinger of this possible doom.

I just though it would be a funny joke for a couple months and then he'd go back to making gold hotels or whatever.

SolRo - 2015-12-03

in my defense, it was 6 months ago. those were simpler times.

infinite zest - 2015-12-03

Don't worry, I was predicting the same back then and people thought I was crazy, but my logic was "if you were stuck in a room and had two entertainment choices, a Presidential Debate or Pro Wrestling, you'd pick the Pro Wrestling" and Trump delivers on making it entertaining. Dems continue to sit back and laugh at the shenanigans, but look at the numbers: The Republican Debates had at least double the ratings of the Democratic, and I wouldn't be surprised if a good 10% jumped ship. It happened to my in-laws: they voted for Carter and Mondale over Reagan, Clinton AND Nader, but after the Iraq invasion they switched parties and have been voting Republican ever since. Fear Tactics and a big mouth gets you a lot further in this business than reasoning and logic.

Old_Zircon - 2015-12-05

I've just assumed he was going to win since the first debate.

That guy - 2015-12-03

Idiocracy was indubitably more fun than whatever we're going to actually have happen.

Cena_mark - 2015-12-03

At one time a major candidate granting this loon an interview would have been political suicide. This really says a lot about where the GOP has gone.

Void 71 - 2015-12-03

I don't think the GOP has any control over him. They actually see him as a threat to their brilliant plan to woo hispanics (and racial minorities in general), who will never vote Republican in great numbers regardless of how hard they're pandered to. That's why they frantically backed Jeb and Carson to the bitter and why they'll throw their support behind Cruz or Rubio when the field narrows.

Like him or not, Trump has managed to pull off a miracle: He put the Democrats on the defensive. It's his election to lose at this point.

He shouldn't be given all the credit, though. The real damage was done by the SJW wing of the Democrat party. He just snuck in under the radar and fired some salvos while they were making 'racists' like Bernie Sanders submit to their will, or else. Bernie Sanders, an avowed socialist, wasn't far enough to the left for these people. Let that sink in.

That guy - 2015-12-03

Oh, I have.
Did that speech-interruption expand, from the left, or was it more of an isolated incident??

That guy - 2015-12-03

As in, did that turn into a "....yeah, YEAH FUCK Bernie" in social media and from the talking heads or was it just a one-off of dumbfuckery?

That guy - 2015-12-03

I'm sure the right loved it; I'm asking about the left eating itself more than just on that day.

Anaxagoras - 2015-12-03

So... Trump... is the fault.... of SJWs?

Man, you need help. Your pathetic agenda is kinda infecting all your views.

OxygenThief - 2015-12-03

There is no way Trump is a legitimate national candidate. His fans make for good TV but they are not a big enough or reliable voting bloc.

Cena_mark - 2015-12-04

I remember talking to an idiot who felt believed Palin could win the presidency. I'm telling him that she has 25% of the voters who are really passionate about her, but no one else would vote for her. That's how I feel about Trump. He can win polls when the GOP votes are spread out across many other candidates, but not the whole thing.

Cena_mark - 2015-12-04

Despite the GOP trying to win over minorities (poorly), the reason why Trump is so popular is because he shows the true uninhibeted GOP mindset. He's merely the GOP without the social graces. The GOP will say try to get black voters, but Trump is like the last GOP president and doesn't care about black people.

That guy - 2015-12-04

I think (hope) you're right, Cena.

Void 71 - 2015-12-04

Palin was a textbook example of a 'cuckservative', though. She was the darling of the GOP establishment. Unlike Palin, Trump is 'based' enough to attract support from the hard right, but he still has more populist appeal than any of the other Republican candidates. He's in the unique position of being exactly what the base of the party wants while being exactly what the leadership of the party doesn't want.

People are sick of career politicians. If it ends up being Trump vs. Clinton (the ultimate career politician), I think Trump can ride that long-standing discontent to victory. Even people who disagree with a lot of his positions will vote for him just because they're so tired of the standard political game.

infinite zest - 2015-12-04

@That guy to answer your question, I don't think anything came out of it, because Sanders was an adult about the thing. Black lives matter and he's not a black life, and that was the end of that. He didn't go on and defend himself as being a white man who has supported civil rights or anything else, he just took the higher ground and moved on. Trump, more recently had a BLM protester at a rally who turned out getting into an altercation and kicked out, and his response was, quote "Maybe he should've been roughed up." And he continues to defend himself like a racist uncle at Thanksgiving for that and everything else that comes out of his mouth. So I guess that didn't really answer anything but look who's ahead in the polls. Being a child about things until you get your way is much more efficient for "likes" than taking the high road.

Sanest Man Alive - 2015-12-04

"cuckservative"

what the fuck does that even mean besides "please ignore anything else I might have to say"

Leviathant - 2015-12-03

My god. The YouTube comments.

That guy - 2015-12-03

.... summoned Gozer the Gozerian?

Sanest Man Alive - 2015-12-04

I'd fucking vote Mr. Stay-Puft by now, even if he's soft on most issues.

bawbag - 2015-12-03

Welcome to the future nobody wanted. Youtube comments are the reason we should hope for our swift nuclear extinction.

Disconcerting/vitalizing as this may seem to you, presidential elections are the real world equivalent of a palate swap in a mid 90s fighting game; Sauron and Diablo are basically the same guy.

Although I suppose Chaos would be a better analogy for Trump; ostensibly shocking in a childish way, but still just a pink version of the ice monkey.

Boxhead - 2015-12-03

I had a disturbing amount of mental consternation that you combined fighting game characters, a villain from a 1950's fantasy book and a villain from a 90's ARPG.

I prefer Ryu and Ken as the metaphor. Though that doesn't imply the evil i guess.

Evil Ryu and Akuma?

Kid Fenris - 2015-12-03

I'm fine with Republicans resembling Primal Rage characters, because that means their sequel will get canceled.

Meerkat - 2015-12-03

I'm hoping for a palate swap with Garrett Oliver so I can properly taste beers.

infinite zest - 2015-12-03

Dangit.. I was hoping when he went to his 60 Second Break towards the end that he was going to advertise his Miracle Cleanse and Male Vitality pills like he normally does.

Dr Robot - 2015-12-03

Jones makes his living by concocting government conspiracies. What would happen if a candidate he backs actually took the highest office in the land?

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2015-12-03

Then Alex Jones is probably going to get a position in the White House and then we're going Full Dystopia. Hooray!

dairyqueenlatifah - 2015-12-03

Sorry. I can't do it. Just...just take them.

theSnake - 2015-12-03

please vote for trump so we can have years and years of this show

jimmyboblahey - 2015-12-07

They fear the Trump.
