We have enough fucking problems here in 2015 without dumping a truly colossal amount of money into "MARS NOW, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE DEMAND IT!"
We have kids who don't get enough to eat everyday, let alone a real education. The answers to that are not in a spaceship.

Why shouldn't we punt on that for, say, a century or so?
