My parents actually have an avocado slicer, which is incredibly useful. Maybe it's just me but whenever I try to slice avocados with a regular knife they get pretty mushy.

Oh.. it was actually a different brand of phallic egg producer thing that does the same thing, but I'd be willing to wait that amount of time in Ashens' video, provided that the finished product was any good. Otherwise I'd never make pasta. I wonder if Mr. Brown's waiting montage was a bit eggagerated for comedic effect.

I actually always thought he was one of the original English voiceovers for Iron Chef Japan, but I guess I was mistaken. The liberties taken with the English dub seemed like his sense of humor. And yeah, he seems like one of the last of the cooking show people who actually show you how to make something, not just consume it, or make it into some competition where it cuts to the almost finished product. Like, "Chopped?" Yeah, try that in my kitchen anytime! I've got 3 bottles of hot sauce and a jar of pickles I probably should've thrown out a while ago! You have 30 minutes 1-2-3 GO!

That being said I really like some of Ramsay's non-American stuff, especially whatever show it was where he got so pissed off about shark fin soup in Thailand that he lobbied for a ban on shark fin. And Adam Richman torturing his body, although I did beat his time once, not for a quantity challenge but a spicy challenge.
