Oh it would be a real treat if... Well if any of you have seen The Force Awakens take a REAL good look at Snoke.

StanleyPain - 2016-01-10

It's not. They changed who/what Snoke is so many times in pre-production there's no way he's tied into pre-Disney lore. At least, I highly doubt it. His look wasn't even finalized until something like 2 months before the movie came out.

Binro the Heretic - 2016-01-10

I loved the ever-loving Hell out of the 2003 "Clone Wars" cartoons. I was shocked when so many of my friends, who were hard-core "Star Wars" fanboys, didn't like it at all. One friend in particular got angry at me for liking it.

I think they hated it for the same reason Lucas hated it. It made his shitty prequels look even shittier by comparison, which is probably why Lucas took the reins for the uber-shitty 2008 CGI abomination.

That's why the 2003 series is about action, adventure & bad-ass Jedi battles and the 2008 series is about bureaucracy, diplomacy and clumsy shoehorned-in character cameos.

Nikon - 2016-01-10

When I was watching the 2003 series with a friend, we both wondered why all these exciting parts of the larger story were left out of the live-action movies.

Binro the Heretic - 2016-01-10

In the cartoon, master Yoda pulled droid army ships out of the sky with The Force.

In the movie, he flipped around with a lightsaber.

B. Weed - 2016-01-10

I have no idea what if any fan kerfuffle was about these 2003 shorts, but I thought they were terrific.

Binro the Heretic - 2016-01-10

The fans I knew complained about all the action and shortage of Extended Universe exposition.

Bort - 2016-01-10

The end was awesome, but he should be sorry to rush the Halloween season. Or at least he ought to jump out of his floor waxer.

Kabbage - 2016-01-10

what

Bort - 2016-01-10

Anakin's scream seems to come out of nowhere: he's just standing there and then AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH! Put me in mind of:

Kabbage - 2016-01-11

Oh! Gotcha.

Nikon - 2016-01-10

Although the second Clone Wars tv series had less larger than life action, the show allowed us to see how the ordinary people in the setting were affected by the larger battles going on around them and the show included a lot of growth arcs for each of the characters.

Binro the Heretic - 2016-01-10

Lord knows that's what I want in my popcorn action flick.

Gmork - 2016-01-10

Explains why you were disappointed. Star wars was never a "popcorn action flick".

Nominal - 2016-01-10

The first minute and a half was pure Zucker bros. Was I supposed to take it seriously after that?

Hazelnut - 2016-01-10

Star Wars mingles humor and high drama. Enjoy it.

Nominal - 2016-01-11

Farce for 0

Hazelnut - 2016-01-10

Surprised this wasn't on here already. So so good.

So what's canon at this point? Or rather what SHOULD be canon based on quality? Episodes IV, V, and VII, obviously. Throw in VI since it has some great scenes and is needed as a bridge. The animated clone wars, definitely. Any of the old stuff with Revan and what-have-you?

Prequels have to be semi-canon at best, like one historian's imaginary reconstruction of the Fall of the Republic based on spotty records largely expunged by the New Order. Our real-life picture of the last generations of the Roman Republic is probably about as distorted.

kingarthur - 2016-01-10

You're giving it too much credit. The answer is "none a dis matters... none a dis fuggin' mattters."

Gmork - 2016-01-10

No, KA, you just aren't invested.

kingarthur - 2016-01-10

True, I could totally care less. I think my time of getting hyped about pop culture died in my late teens.

Though I'm avoiding spoilers about The Hateful 8.

kingarthur - 2016-01-10

*could NOT care less... damn colloquialism.

Don't get the extreme undying hatred for RotJ. Yeah it would have been better with the original script Wookie uprising, but it's not like the teddy bears ruined the thing.

The final light saber duel was also better than anything in the prequels or cartoons. This scene is the perfect example of Plinkett's whole point about why the prequel action scenes sucked. They miss the whole point that the duels were about externalizations of character and get boring when they go on too long.

Nominal - 2016-01-11

(The 4 stars are for the first 90 seconds of Teen Titans Go wackiness that they should have stuck with)

EvilHomer - 2016-01-11

"the duels were about externalizations of character"

Well then, surely, your stars should go towards the duel in this clip? The ending is probably the best example of "externalizing a character" in any piece of Star Wars media.

Hazelnut - 2016-01-11

Nominal: yeah, you're right, the final dual in RotJ makes the whole thing worth it. I actually quite liked the whole Jabba interlude too, if only for the disturbing ways Luke has changed.

Juice Eggs McKenna - 2016-01-10

At least the third best thing to happen as a result of the prequels

gmol - 2016-01-10

The animation about Anakin's hand was genius.

Sanest Man Alive - 2016-01-11

Tartakovsky is outstanding at that kind of visual narration. It's why these Clone Wars shorts were largely wordless: the one you mentioned says so much without just telling the audience "HEY ANAKIN'S GOT SERIOUS PROBLEMS AND HIS STRONG TIES TO THE FORCE ARE GONNA BITE HIM IN THE ASS ONE DAY BECAUSE OF THEM. THE PROBLEMS I MEAN. ANAKIN'S PROBLEMS. "

Can I start submitting Sym-Bionic Titan stuff now?
