R2D2 still in the original packaging goes for around 0. 30 seconds of googling. Jesus, the lazy hacks couldn't even get that right.

infinite zest - 2016-01-19

Aw fuck you can get a full-size one that moves? I'm really glad I got snipped when I did.

yogarfield - 2016-01-19

Meanwhile, Jar Jar Binks guests on Dog With a Blog.

EvilHomer - 2016-01-19

He does?!

infinite zest - 2016-01-19

I suck and usually try to draw in under a minute but here's my DwaB/Jar Jar hybrid R2D2 DA.

Jar Jar would do better in Gravity Falls, where Bill Cypher could bring him to the Hell dimension with his crew.

EvilHomer - 2016-01-20

That's pretty cool, IZ!

You should do one with Avery, wearing socks, getting eaten by a Rancor.

You know, for page views.

infinite zest - 2016-01-21

Thanks homie! I did one for ROUS, if I remember what a rankor looks like I'll do that too! I try to go all from memory and under a minute. It might look more like the snowman. :D

EvilHomer - 2016-01-21

No! Don't do that! You'll get the wrong kind of traffic!

Or the right kind, depending on how you want to look at it.

BHWW - 2016-01-19

The only acceptable version of this would be the one in an alternate reality where C3P0 is more like the Auralnauts version.

somedongus - 2016-01-20

Fuck yes.

That guy - 2016-01-19

here's my unironic assesment of OMG STAR WARS DID A THING WITH THEIR INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

infinite zest - 2016-01-19

Like the Sesame Street one, I thought you'd like this, because this is how they kill the Star Warses.

infinite zest - 2016-01-19

Oh shit NM it's from 2012. Rilo Kiley is Luke Skyscraper's daughter and he kills everybody. The end.

Hooker - 2016-01-20

Those jokes don't even make sense. All the non-jokes writing is lazy exposition. Nobody actually watches this garbage, right?

infinite zest - 2016-01-20

It makes sense to me. They arrive at Lucas Ranch, meet R2D2 and speak in kid slang. They don't "get" R2D2 so C3PO breaks it down street style. Then things probably happen. Really, this is better writing than The Simpsons in the past 15 years or so.

That's depressing to think about.

EvilHomer - 2016-01-20

How does it make sense? R2-D2 and C-3PO don't live at Lucas Ranch; in-universe, they live in the Star Wars Galaxy far, far away, while IRL, they are fictional characters, and thus do not live anywhere.

Also, the kids don't "get" R2-D2 because R2-D2 speaks Binary, and even in the Star Wars galaxy (where droids are common) hardly any non-robot can understand that language. The kids understand *English* perfectly well, so all C-3PO had to do was stick to regular English, like he usually does!

Hooker - 2016-01-20

It's called Galactic Basic, idiot.

EvilHomer - 2016-01-20

Is it, though? First, C-3PO, as a protocol droid, would no doubt initiate conversations in the native language of the people to whom he is speaking. The Ant Farm children are, presumably, average American Earthlings*, hence C-3PO would choose to speak with them in American English, a language which JUST HAPPENS to sound like Basic (or does it?). This principle holds true regardless of which American-localized Earth television show he happens to appear upon - Sesame Street, Donny & Marie, The Muppets, etc. On American television, he speaks English.

Second, most people assume that Basic sounds (sounded?) exactly like English. But is this actually true? What evidence do we have to suggest this to be the case? Sure, the films, TV shows, and other merchandise released in the United States feature characters who speak a Basic that sounds identical to modern English - but is that because the language IS identical to modern English, or merely because what we are hearing is a localized translation? Consider: when Star Wars material is released overseas, lines spoken in Basic are generally dubbed into whatever language is most commonly understood by the anticipated audience. Basic in Japan sounds like Japanese, Basic in Germany sounds like German, Basic in Pakistan sounds like Urdu. Obviously, these languages cannot ALL be phonologically identical to "genuine" Galactic Standard Basic, so why assume that English is any different?

* I know nothing about the show and could, of course, be wrong about this one particular point. Perhaps, as the name of the series implies, the characters are not Earth children, but are instead holographically-cloaked, sentient ants? More research is necessary.

EvilHomer - 2016-01-21

Nevermind, after consulting the ANT Farm wiki, I have ascertained that the children are not sentient ants; ANT is actually an acronym for Advanced Natural Talent, and the three children are apparently some kind of predictive-programming assets, most likely meant to prepare Disney consumers for the coming age of biotech-corporation-controlled, genetically-modified transhuman slaves.
