You said you'd be back!

You lied to me, Skeletor!

anyone seen electric boogaloo or the go go boys yet? golan and globus AKA "the bad news jews" (sorry baleen plz dont ban me for historical accuracy) were pretty fucking amazing

lotsmoreorcs - 2016-01-31

fun fact: jean claue van dammes "cyborg" used a lot of scrapped set stuff from the deaded sequel to this, to the extent that many TV airings still label it as "masters of the universe 2"

Electric Boogaloo the documentary is pretty great. I recommend it. Also Rifftrax has taken on Golan-Globus's disco musical The Apple recently and that is fucking gold.

Also, Courtney Cox's leg injury in this movie is the stuff of my childhood gore nightmares.

Old_Zircon - 2016-01-31

Haven't seen Go Go Boys but Electric Boogaloo is pretty good. Convinced me to finally watch Runaway Train, too.

runaway train is a perfect film

Old_Zircon - 2016-01-31

It really is, even the parts at the railroad's office where it kind of reverts back to typical Cannon standard writing and overacting are good, they kind of give you a breather from the rest of it. And everything on the train is of course riveting. Even watching it a few times AND seeing the behind the scenes footage doesn't take away from the effects a bit, that rear projection stuff when people are passing between train cars looks more real than any CGI I can think of.

The Paramount Vault also has King Solomon's Mine, and a few other noteworthy Cannon Group films for free!

Old_Zircon - 2016-01-31

Thanks for the heads up, I haven't seen King Solomon's Mines since grade school!

Frank Langella's finest moment.

"The darkness can embrace the light, but never eclipse it."

What? Has the sorceress never heard of a new moon? For that matter, what does that even *mean*?

What the fuck was the matter with 80s screen writers? I've done cocaine... I never produced shit like this. On the other hand, I never swam in pools of money, either. More research is needed.

The scriptwriter (one of them, anyway) also wrote The Dark Crystal, so maybe that line's a leftover.
