Wow. I bet this is what Lucky Louie was originally supposed to be like.

The basic premise is Horace & Pete's is a family-owned bar that's been open for a century and is always passed down to heirs named Horace & Pete. Louis is the latest Horace and Steve Buscemi is his brother Pete. They inherited the bar a year before when their father Horace passed away. He had run the bar with his cousin whom they call "Uncle Pete" played by Alan Alda.

The family, as you can tell from the clip, is dysfunctional in the extreme. The neighborhood is getting slowly gentrified and the older patrons and Uncle Pete clash with the new crop of residents, most of whom are young hipsters.

There are some funny moments here and there, but it's really not meant to be a comedy. I'm liking it so far. I understand Louis made the decision not to release it with a lot of hype or big announcements, so I'm doing what I can to let people know about it.

You can download the first episode for and episode 2 is only .

That's actually not a bad deal! I guess I'm of that generation that still has trouble accepting the fact that some of the best shows come from web series, or non-networks like Netflix, Amazon and.. Skinemax!!?! (The Knick). I assume that's how people maybe ten years older than myself felt when HBO first announced their original series, like THEY could compete with the Big Three, yeah right.

First time I've heard Alan Alda use potty mouth words.

There is something strangely satisfying at seeing an older sitcom actor who did TV for a long time back in the day cursing for the first time on screen. It's almost cathartic.
