Is he trying to be Chinese? I'm so confused.

That guy - 2016-02-14

ASMR?

EvilHomer - 2016-02-14

I'd love to see Varg do some ASMR videos. His voice is so soothing.

infinite zest - 2016-02-14

Yeah it really is. I'd love a podcast where he just talks about whatever. Like, I don't think murder and church arson is cool, but if there's one example of how the Norwegian prison system works to actually rehabilitate a fellow and not punish for punishment's sake, it's Norway's.

infinite zest - 2016-02-14

whoops. Redundancy at its finest.. too early :(

I've been to the area of France where he currently lives with his wife and little vikings. The French side of my family has lived there for generations, and it's one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen - and I grew up at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Varg is living the life.

EvilHomer - 2016-02-14

He IS living the life. Nice farm, nice family, self-published roleplaying system; what more could anyone ask for?

glasseye - 2016-02-15

American feigning a terrible English accent.

memedumpster - 2016-02-14

Did he just finish training his police dog or something?

You see, this comes back to my point that D&D ruined the Teutonic for everyone, and even a grand Teuton like Varg had to rely on it to connect with his roots.

Oh, that's a costume not padding, my fault. I actually thought that shield was a really awesome coffin shaped grandfather clock for most of the video.

EvilHomer - 2016-02-14

He's not a Teuton. He's Norwegian.

memedumpster - 2016-02-14

We all know he's really British.

memedumpster - 2016-02-14

Lord British!

EvilHomer - 2016-02-14

I don't think he cares much for Ultima, either.

memedumpster - 2016-02-14

Not even Ultima Thule?

EvilHomer - 2016-02-14

That's a different Ultima. Lord British is a character from a computer game series called Ultima.

memedumpster - 2016-02-14

Yes, and it had a sequel. Ultima Thule. This was followed by Ultima Unbound and Ultima GT.

EvilHomer - 2016-02-14

?

No, the sequel to Ultima was Revenge of the Enchantress. Then came Exodus (the first one I played), Quest of the Avatar (my personal favorite), and six more sequels in the main series alone; not one of them named Thule, Unbound, or GT.

EvilHomer - 2016-02-14

At first I was thinking you'd confused Ultima, the game, with Ultima Thule, the mythical island commonly associated with the Nordic/ North Sea world. I did not think you meant Ultima Thule, the game, and I can find no evidence of such a game's existence. A Duck search for "Ultima Thule Game" turns up little of relevance - a single card from the Call of Cthulu CCG, a seemingly defunct indie dev page, a pnp sourcebook from Spike Jones, and a TV Tropes page, but no evidence of an Ultima Thule/Unbound/GT.
