All white people in America should be reminded yearly of my favourite quote from Do The Right Thing:

Exactly, and Spike Lee says of white folks who bemoan the loss of Al's Pizzeria more than the death Radio Raheem, that they care more about a white man's business than a black man's life.
The CVS became like a rallying cry for these people. "Oh, but they burned down the CVS, BOO HOO!" The community lost a few minimum wage jobs, and a place to buy overpriced shit. Fuck it.

CVS is known nationally as the biggest scamshack pharmacy possible, inferior to the pharmacy in your grocery store or back alley. It's easy to imagine that every single social malcontent's riot list has it on there somewhere as a default. I bet Predator drones have a "if loss of orders bomb CVS" routine in their bios.

CVS has probably used money as an excuse to take more lives than every murder-cop's bucket list.

Someone pointed out online that virtually all the businesses in that area were owned by (mostly white) people that lived far, far, away from said neighborhood, and had largely supplanted the original businesses that had been locally owned, too.

So the whole 'they destroy their own!' was complete bullshit from the start.

CVS isn't a grocery store. If people really were relying on it for food, that's already a food desert.
