Ha, I missed it the first time I saw this but he even refers to his Morton Downey Jr appearance.

I love this movie. I can't imagine how fun it must have been to work on.

Oh, it was FAR from fun! Lloyd's directing style, according to Will Keenan, who played Casey in this film, is to find the weakest-willed person on the set (this time it was "fire extinguisher boy") to become the designated "shit boy". It was the shit boy's job to be constantly mocked, yelled at, and berated by Lloyd to the point of (almost, but never actually) crying, so everyone else on the set knows that it's best not to fuck around, lest they become the shit boy. It can be found in the documentary "Farts of Darkness: The Making of Terror Firmer" included in the DVD set. Seriously, Lloyd is a screaming maniac when he directs. Tho his crew also are quick to say that working on a Troma film is beneficial because once you've made a film with Lloyd, any other production that you're on seems like a cakewalk. Never worked with Lloyd, but did grow up on a farm, so I know what hard work is, and any time I've been somewhere where they complain about how "hard" the work is, I just laugh in their face (okay, not literally, but metaphorically/passive-aggressively, at least).

I do love this movie, tho. It's the perfect "emotional gumbo" which James Gunn loves to talk about. For example [SPOILERS!], after Jennifer rapes Casey, Casey runs away crying like a little girl, and seeks comfort in the arms of his hideously deformed Dad that he keeps in a cage in his apartment. The Dad sings "Amazing Grace" to him and comforts him, all while Jessica looks on terrified as the room is filled with pickled human body parts in jars and scary music plays. The first time I saw this scene, I was amused, shocked, disgusted, offended, and genuinely (yes, genuinely) terrified, all at the same time.

The first 98 seconds of the film also gives us a good indication of the gumbo to come, where we have a silly over-the-top gore scene, a shocking (yet oddly amusing) de-fetusing, and an off-screen murder for the sake of a stupid pun.

Seriously, if you haven't seen this film, give yourself a couple hours to watch it. I can safely say it's my favorite Troma film. There was a time in my life when I was watching it every day after my shift at McDonalds.
