There was a near child death in The Killer. This makes up for it.

I tried to find a child death in Harry Potter, but the closest scene in the films was Cedric Diggory and dude is like 26.

Man, I can't find a link to the out-of-the-blue front porch child shotgunning in M Night Shyamalan's The Happening. It makes a good companion piece to this one in tone and execution.
