I never thought I'd witness the death of the concept of music.

fedex - 2016-02-28

really? I thought 1:55 was where it got musically interesting

Sounds like the soundtrack to something Lovecraftian. I could practically hear an early 20th century man's mind break.

Sanest Man Alive - 2016-02-29

It sounded to me like something an emergent AI might do as a first stab at creativity. Or a suicide attempt, whichever.

Anyway, yall should check out this guy's channel if you're curious, it's full of insanely over-notated renditions like this. Not 100% sure I agree with him and others calling this stuff a genre in itself, but that's a pedantic battle I haven't leveled up for. It's interesting stuff at least.

Better than a cup of coffee.

Jesus Christ, FINISH THE PHRASE.

Other than the ending, it was good!

This is a genre called 'black midi' (tag suggestion). It's as much about the visual as it is about the music. I've seen ones that are much better than this one.

yogarfield - 2016-02-29

Yeah, some have been submitted here before. Must have had shitty tags.

memedumpster - 2016-02-29

It's "nu-midi" as far as I intend to call it.

Get up, come on get down with the bitness!

Old_Zircon - 2016-02-29

Sounds like something they'd put on during the intermission at a Dead show in 1974 to be honest.

Threnody for the victims of a twinkling star

I just wanted you to know that I got your joke.

badideasinaction - 2016-03-01

Has anyone actually closed the loop on Black Midi loving Touhou music and finally made a bullet hell game based on navigating black midi songs?
