I'm actually rather impressed with what they accomplished with just 16 colors.

The main thing about this that attracted me is a lot of modern indie game developers want to make a game that is incomprehensible, but has a meaning. This game is both of those things, but not being the developers were trying to do that. This is because this is a shitty port of an Amiga game.

So long as the dog doesn't slowly die of cancer and then the dev gets pissed I didn't want to play the dog slowly dies of cancer game.

Oh, wow, the Amiga version has fairly amazing audio for a computer game released in 1989 with large snippets of the songs.

Kinda disappointed that the PC game's version of the film's "Big-Lipped Alligator Moment" is more like just a "Big-Lipped Alligator Cameo".

Is this one of those PC games that had digitized voices without needing a sound card like WORLD CLASS LEADERBOARD or HARDBALL III?

Scrimmjob - 2016-03-26

Yeah, it sounds like digitized speech coming from the PC speaker. The only games I remember doing that were from Access software. In the manual for one of those games there was a diagram for opening up your computer and adding a speaker, in order to slightly improve the sound quality.

Access Software did "no sound card" speech with "RealAudio", though HARDBALL III, where Al Michaels did rudimentary play-by-play, was from Accolade and another game we had that featured a small amount of digitized speech was MIGHT & MAGIC III from New World Computing, so, while Access led the way, they weren't the only ones.

Have you checked the IRQ jumpers on your VGA card?
