oh, they so desperately seem to want some kind of Apocolyptic end times scenario.

This is supposedly a prophetic herald of such times..

I put "flying horses" into youtube thinking I was looking for art docs about the way horses were painted eons ago, instead I found a bunch of this.

Oscar Wildcat - 2016-04-26

You've got to hand it to those guys over at the DOD; this new drone camouflage program works like a fucking charm. Blow jobs for everyone, as a former employer of mine liked to say.

memedumpster - 2016-04-26

I think this might actually be aliens. If I were aliens, disguising our flying craft as one of the local land animals to see how the sentient animals react would be plan A.

Next, I'd make the flying land animal talk to them about something unrelated, like God.

Oscar Wildcat - 2016-04-26

What you're talking about are BVM sightings. These were common in the middle ages, unfortunately before youtube. That's Blessed Virgin Mary, for you heathens out there...

EvilHomer - 2016-04-26

Are they sure it was a horse? It could be a buraq, particularly if Allah, blessed be His name, sent it to visit Jeddah.

Saudi Arabia, ladies and gentlemen
Or I guess just gentlemen

I saw one of these fuckers the other day, but it was a palomino.

fedex - 2016-04-26

too bad it wasn't a Mustang

Binro the Heretic - 2016-04-27

So apparently a legendary flying horse called Al Buraq used to be like Uber for the great prophets, including Muhammed, which explains why an Islamist would be in such awe of seeing one.

Unfortunately, Snopes points out this particular flying horse bears a striking resemblance to a horse-shaped Mylar helium balloon. It even has the little fill nozzle on its belly.

That guy - 2016-04-28

How do you say "God is a silly person" in Arabic?

EvilHomer - 2016-04-28

Exactly. The buraq was like Mohammed's own personal Rainbow Dash, able to fly the Holy Prophet from Mecca to the farthest mosque in ten seconds flat. Flying horses are extra magical to Saddle Arabians, so of course they will be in awe when one appears!

As for Snopes, the author merely states a hypothesis, he does not prove that the miraculous God-horse is indeed just a balloon. To support his hypothesis, the author claims that the horse does not move as if it were frightened to be flying - but the buraq is a stately creature, and would obviously fly with poise and purpose. The buraq does not waver in its commitment to Allah's design; it *strikes* fear, and does not feel it. Also, the author includes a picture of a balloon horse, but nowhere do we find evidence that this type of balloon is actually sold in Jeddah, let alone carried on the streets during thunderstorms - it's just a random, unrelated picture, not documented evidence but merely included to illustrate the author's flimsy hypothesis. And this alleged "fill nozzle"? How do you know it is not the buraq's enormous penis?

memedumpster - 2016-04-28

I don't think snopes is necessary to prove this is fake.

Cool about the prophet horses though. Jewish prophets always rode on clouds and fire pillars, like Buddhas, while Christian prophets usually rode large poles of wood surrounded by angry people.

memedumpster - 2016-04-28

Also, "aḥmaqlillah," maybe.

Or maybe that says "God made me stupid."

I am bad at words not Merican.
