nice description

That guy - 2016-05-04

ambiguous editorializing in the Desc: is a real double-or-nothing kind of bet

Born in the RSR - 2016-05-03

I liked their version of Land of Confusion.

glasseye - 2016-05-04

Better video, and cover, than this.

Born in the RSR - 2016-05-04

Yea, this is basically them pulling a Limp Bizkit Behind blue eyes. It is terrible but I see how they thought they could get away with it.

Disturbed is a late 90s nu-metal-ish type of band, but they never reached the peaks of Korn or Limp Bizkit, thus they never plunged as far those bands did. They just stuck around, good on them for that.

Miss Henson's 6th grade class - 2016-05-04

So awful that I can't believe they got through it without cracking the fuck up. This is the sort of bedrock mope-rock that will be with us forever and ever and ever.

memedumpster - 2016-05-04

On the one hand, this isn't that bad, and if this song had been an original song done this way, I might have even really liked it.

On the other hand, most of you love that absolutely unacceptable abomination of a cover that Gary Jules did of Mad World, and this song kicks the crap of that hands down every single note. So I kind of want to be obnoxiously a fan of this song.

I need guidance, what would EvilHomer do?

SolRo - 2016-05-04

The opposite

EvilHomer - 2016-05-04

It's complicated. I actually liked the original quite a bit, which is odd, since I don't usually find Simon & Garfunkle tolerable. I am not fond of Disturbed, and I don't generally approve of listening to any music "ironically" (much less Disturbed) - but if I'm going to be perfectly honest, this cover isn't too bad! Possibly the best song Disturbed have ever done, in fact, if only because it sounds less like Disturbed, and more like the bastard child of Stone Sour and Black Label Society. If that's your kind of thing (and being that you are an out-of-the-closet redneck fetishist, it may well be) then I can see no shame in liking this.

My advice to you, Mr Meme, would be to follow your heart. If you like the song, listen to it with sincerity and be happy! If you don't like it, or do not currently feel secure enough to admit your own desires, then move on and be happy. Thus spoke EvilHomer.

EvilHomer - 2016-05-04

Now with that said, my favorite cover of Sound of Silence has always been the Liv Kristine/ Atrocity one: https://youtu.be/u1-Ux5cQGdw

A lot of dorks also like to cite the Nevermore cover, but truth be told, I like this Disturbed version better - if for no other reason than the fact that I hate Warrel Dane.

memedumpster - 2016-05-04

That wasn't bad!

EvilHomer - 2016-05-04

Incidentally, is this a new song? If so, I hope Disturbed keeps doing this Black Label Sours thing. I still won't buy any of their music or go to any of their shows or even respect them very much, but it's a welcome improvement.

Old_Zircon - 2016-05-05

Best cover of Sounds of Silence was Rosebud the Basselope.

HarrietTubmanPI - 2016-05-04

All you cute people and your 'songs'. With all the variations that music can have, and in all the various types of compositions, why do most of you limit yourself to 'songs'? I can only attribute someone thinking this is amazing only from the fact that they really haven't ventured out of their comfort zone and listened to other things that aren't 'songs'.

That guy - 2016-05-04

YEAH, you pork-offal-stuffed pork-stomach-membranes.

Listen to other things that aren't 'songs'!! Do it now!!

As soon as you put my name on that list, Homie,, the rest of those became a tautology, except ASMR.

EvilHomer - 2016-05-04

I thought you liked ASMR? Or do you just never do it?

memedumpster - 2016-05-04

You missed ASMR movie night! ASMR creeps me out. There is also a whole side to it that isn't whisper related, but making noises on inanimate objects. Also super creepy.

poorwill - 2016-05-04

shut up both of you or i'm turning this car around

EvilHomer - 2016-05-04

HE STARTED IT!

Also, I tried movie night, but I kept getting a "Flash: Video File Not Found" error.

HarrietTubmanPI - 2016-05-04

Song refers to a limited form of music. Music is simply organized sound. Song is one of a myriad of ways to organize it. Try music organized differently. You might like it.

memedumpster - 2016-05-04

Has anyone ever written music as an emergent system?

Oscar Wildcat - 2016-05-04

Brian Eno, of course. I could find a link for you if you come up empty, but google around on generative music and I'm sure something relevant will come up.

misterbuns - 2016-05-04

Bort - 2016-05-04

I still prefer the John Cage cover.

Robin Kestrel - 2016-05-04

This would be better if he were eating a sandwich while singing.

matlock - 2016-05-04

That was pretty awful.

Oscar Wildcat - 2016-05-04

Appalling, in fact. Seems appropriate for this site.
