The consensus (as I've seen it) seems to be that it was about homophobia and not creeping Sharia Law, and much to my surprise, people are rallying around the LGBT community in ways they didn't even for the Sandy Hook kids.

Maybe the "AIDS is God's punishment" crowd is relatively quiet on this one because they can't bring themselves to cheer a Muslim shooter. Or maybe it's that, last I heard, the shooter was a fan of multiple Muslim groups that are actually shooting at each other, so it's hard to paint him as a member of any particular scary organization.
