very deserving of the "what hell sounds like" tag

Sanest Man Alive - 2016-07-02 "Worst Instruments Week" has to be the most shittily tagged theme week in poeTV history.

God, that's an ugly sound.

This sounds awesome!!!
"Best Instruments Week"
|
EvilHomer - 2016-07-02 I mean, it's basically a bigger, more evil hurdy-gurdy, and seeing as hurdy-gurdys are already one of the most metal instruments out there, making it bigger and more evil can't help but produce excellent results.
|
Maggot Brain - 2016-07-02 I've been calling this instrument the 'unmellotron."
|
Oscar Wildcat - 2016-07-02 Yes, that name is perfect. It is a bit like a mechanical mellotron, albeit with only one sample. Just like the mellotron, there is substantial nonlinear interaction between the individual notes and the resulting sound quality is very rich and emotional. It seems a majority of us are agreeing on the general greatness of this thing, EH. You'll have to change your position immediately.

EvilHomer - 2016-07-02 I *could* argue the other way, if I wanted to, but why would I do that?
And anyways, Mr Wildcat, you're wrong. It's an evil hurdy-gurdy, not a single-sample mellotron. The wheelharp's mechanism is virtually identical to that of a hurdy-gurdy: depressed strings, played via a mechanically-rotating wheel. The keyboard is arranged differently and this instrument is much larger, but you can tell the designer was a hurdy-gurdy aficionado.

Once again PoeTV proves that music is not its strong suit.
This is unambiguously great.
